honestly...

Mostly because I hate driving. I have road rage. Riding my bike is fun enough that it can (mostly) drown out my hatred for people in cars. My commute is fairly boring and doesn't have many options, and I never get a chance to ride with anyone else, so yeah...it's mostly my hatred of driving.

I ride because

I choose not to run

I used to think that it was

I used to think that it was cheaper that therapy. In the long run I'm not so sure about that.
Long solo rides are a time for introspection, Noodling out complex problems, a break from all the crap the stresses you out. Just ride.... Ride until your completely physically exhausted then turn around and ride home it makes for the perfect weekend.

i'd like to revise my

i'd like to revise my statement and involve corndogs somehow.

I like to be 'outside' as much as possible, 'feel' the seasons, remind me I am an animal, move my body.

Because biking in to work

Because biking in to work (which takes ~20 minutes) and having a 15 minute long conversation with another bike commuter is way more fun than the ~40 minute solo drive waiting to get through krog tunnel and downtown.

griggey's picture

+1

I had to go to an all day seminar up in Norcross and sitting in the car trying to get home at 4:00 made me really anxious. I've been spoiled by how nice it is to bike commute that sitting in traffic for that long in a car drives me nuts.

I wish I had someone to talk

I wish I had someone to talk to on my commute. I get lonely.

Is it just me, or do conversations seem to be better when you're on a bike?

I think it's because there is

I think it's because there is less bullshit, you get to the point. and the energy is usually higher and more potent because your whole body is engaged.
sooo. yeah I agree, on so many levels.
