it's the right thing to do
and not a surprise to anyone who saw how much work it was. thanks for everything, and looking forward to seeing how past FM24s inspire new heights of awesome.
new heights of awesome
Thanks for the quick, positive feedback. I've been a little sad thinking about this but hopefully we all will come out on top, having benefited from the experience. I am toasting my lonely bottle of beer to anyone who will receive it...cheers.
cheers for sure.
we should do some diptychs of people at both the 05 and 09 races. I KNOW that shit'd be real funny.
I've never seen "diptychs"
I've never seen "diptychs" used in a sentence before.

I'm sad cause this was my first one. But I completely understand. The whole race I was wondering how you'd handle it next year.

This was my first also, (so I'd only make half of Twotone's diptych) what an incredible experience.
Makes me hugely pumped for another, but easy to see how the thing's gotten too big to be manageable so I understand totally.
Cheers.
Looking forward to something new.
legendary
I'm really happy to have participated a few times in what is sure to be a legendary part of the urban folklore of Atlanta. Seriously, in 20 years, everyone of us will be bragging to young whippersnappers about this awesome 24 hour bike race we used to ride in and all the badass stuff we did while riding it.

Thanks Kurt, Christopher, Chris and whoever else has been running this show for the last five years. All of your hard work has always been appreciated.
I've had a great time with my TNT girls for the last three years and with Freddy Kreuger's Kids my first year when it was like 30 degrees outside!
Jon - I'll have to dig up some FKK pics...
Cheers!
I owe FM24 so much. Over the past 4 years I've made great friends, discovered my passion for all things cycling, grown from being a directionless transplant to a home-owning native... hell, my band's first gig was at fm24.07 and we're still going strong. It all started with a bunch of weird kids on bikes selling vegan baked goods in the park trying to convince me I needed to race my beat up old bike on busy streets for 24 hours. FM24 has coincided, and in part facilitated, with a transformational part of my life. I'm far happier with who I am today than I was 4 years ago. I would not be the same without that crazy ride through the city each year. Thanks to all who've ever organized or participated in this event. It will be missed.
TwoTone, I think diptychs would be ridiculous. I'd love to see that.
Sad to hear,
but I understand your decision. Thanks for all the work you've put into the FM24s. The 3 I've done were a blast. Long live the FM24 legend.
