The neighbors thought it was awesome, by the way.

count?

Not counting the couple of times I saw angel going in both directions, it looks like just over 200 riders at this point of ride. It seemed that there were more than that at the start?? Anyone else do a head count?? Or does that even matter? That was a very fun MASS. Good route. Many jovial riders. Besides the cop near the starbucks on Peachtree, it was good to be left alone.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. I heard

Yeah, I enjoyed it. I heard a couple about someone just starting their commute home from critical mass, but I kinda enjoyed seeing different parts. Also really enjoyed the cop-free environment.

Cop-free

Any conjecture on why the cops were a no-show?

gabriel's picture

maybe they don't care

except when folks piss them off in addition to running lights.

gabriel's picture

actually

there was one cop, who stopped people at ptree and 7th, until the light changed.

we avoided Atlantic Station,

we avoided Atlantic Station, and last time I was told that tends to get the cops' attentions.

250 people is the count I had.

I counted as we were leaving downtown and I had a friend get arrested because he didn't have an ID and the cop stopped him in Downtown at Baker and Peachtree right at the start for not stopping at a light.

It seems to me that we have to have a police officer that takes the ride personal and then calls for back up. Besides last Summer, they really don't mess with us. Most of the time, they just wave back and smile. Happy Friday.

1984?

He got arrested for not having an ID? I don't carry an ID with me ever. I don't even have a drivers license, is it a law that you must always have an ID on you?

they can detain you if they

they can detain you if they cannot confirm your identity and thing that there is a risk you will not do what is required by the ticket you are receiving.

I would change that practice

I would change that practice if I were you. And I'm not even joking around... it is a small inconvenience compared to jail.

Unless, of course, you miss your boyfriend... or want to make him jealous by ending up in a different cell.
