Clunker Club

I've been wanting to duplicate a group ride we did in my homeland of Wisconsin. Called ClunkerClub, its a very social bike ride for clunkers, classics, cruisers, choppers, high, SS/fixie, etc.....no bike will be turned away, but "new" bikes will likely be ridiculed and made to ride in largest gear. I am going to try hosting these rides starting this Saturday night, starting from the Decatur MARTA bike rack on Church at 7:30pm. We will return by dark, but if riders have lights, we will do a night loop after 9:00pm. So actually it could be two rides, but I'd like to hear any feedback about this style of ride.

Sounds like fun

Might make me get that old Raleigh 3-speed I have gathering dust into riding condition.

Reynoldstown gang

While pedicabbing at the Reynoldstown Wheelbarrow festival last weekend, they had a group of 12 or so CLUNKER riders with some sweet rides in the parade. They had some cool frankenbikes, too. Would any one know any of these cats and kittens? Most live in RT. Contacts?

I just got back from Mexico.

I just got back from Mexico. we rented bikes for the day in Tulum.... and they were righteous clunkers. Had lunch off of a taco stand that was a utility trike, a sheet of plywood, and little grill of chorizo....
Riding bikes there puts riding my Ti recumbent into perspective.
