We got 6 out last week, hopefully more this week. Try to be out by 8:15 at the flying biscuit on mclendon, leave at 8:30. charge your lights, try to eat beforehand or bring a snack, bring $ for Fellini's afterwards. Let me know if you need to borrow lights.

Question:
I'm new... how far do y'all go on these rides?
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...
Worst case. But usually ~2 hours, 20 miles - many of which are road.
Sounds good
Guess even if I don't hold out the whole time, I can always cut out early and ride back solo.
i could always point you
in the right direction
i'm out for this evening. I
i'm out for this evening. I over-committed myself to some other, less fun, thing.
nice, but uh, was anyone
nice, but uh, was anyone gonna tell me about that gigantic rip in my shorts? don't know when that happened....
edit: perhaps i should ride in front of other people more.
mtb?
20 mile mtb ride mostly on roads? why do I need my mtb to ride roads? would a CX bike work? Why not tour the multiple off road trails ITP?
Well...
Okay, maybe not mostly road. but a CX bike would do just fine in most of it. This is ITP. Come on out next week. I swear I won't rip my deraileur in half this time.
If CX bikes are allowed, I
If CX bikes are allowed, I may have to try and join you guys in the following weeks.

CX bikes are fine if you are
CX bikes are fine if you are down with the CX bike hustle to run up stairs, over some logs, etc. I walked my full suspension over a few logs and up some stairs and did get laughed at :)
Well, I'm buying a CX bike,
Well, I'm buying a CX bike, gotta learn the CX hustle at some point right?

btw
I have to do some hill repeat intervals before I can go play around. So if anyone wants to join me for 5x up a 7 minute hill beforehand, lemme know.
I have a feeling I won't have many takers on this option, but I thought I would put it out there. I will probably just use mclendon for the hill.
.
E. Morningside is a good one too.
what time?
what time?
can i borrow a light again
can i borrow a light again tonight? if so, i'm def in.
it was nice to meet you in
it was nice to meet you in person man.
Sure
But I'm putting you in charge of changing the front tire. See you there at 8:15
good times
Nice intown trail ride. I had the disadvantage of low wattage light. I could not ride faster than my light, so I was holding up the group. (maybe it's my age??) The darker it got, the more fun this ride is. Gooberhack gave a tour of "his" home trail, Ira B Melton park. Even in the dark you could see the whites of riders teeth from the big grins. There were quite a few endos and wipeouts. There are a decent amount of singletrack ITP. This rides kicks ass!!
good times
i have some 44t chainring divots in the back of my calf to remember it by
damage
I'm not sure why this ride keeps injuring everyone. I have a swollen knee and a slight limp today, thanks to Gooberhack/Emanuel's hand built gnar trail. Still, an excellent ride!
yes, my taint is wrecked.
yes, my taint is wrecked. Gotta gotta gotta do it again.
Now I'm scared. And now I
Now I'm scared. And now I know I don't have a light good enough for this kind of night ride.
i saw the Chainring calf
fathom's chainring calf tattoo was indeed impressive. I saw it in the dark after finishing IRA's, and thought it was just grease. Yyouch!!
good lights
It definitely helps to have good lights on this ride. Its counter-intuitive, but the more ambient light there is, like when you are riding in the city, the brighter your lights need to be. If you are on a very dark trail in the boonies at night, you can get by with a dim light.
Anyone need a light tonight?
Call me seven 9oo-7618 if you do, quick
has anyone used a gps to map
has anyone used a gps to map this route? it would be cool to see the whole thing all linked together.

I carry a GPS with me every time but seems that the nights I go always leave out important pieces. In the spirit of secretness I won't post any here, but check your mail in a few minutes!
"spirit of secretness"
Care to try to explain?
It's secret trails through
It's secret trails through secret places and seems to me to be shared by showing people in person where they are. Perhaps this is a good analogy:
secret places :: people knowing where things are
hmm...
I like the first one.

Probably not, since the only

ahumm...
Your memory is already going.
You know why Jeff? Cause I
You know why Jeff? Cause I just look at people's avatars, and I've yet to successfully associate the ape and you.
Gah, between you and Graham, I now feel like a total ass.
It's simple:
Hair. Silver. Back. (probably TMI)
erm
who is Grant?
