Had a good time at FM24 in the past? Missed out for some reason? Looks like we're up to it again this year, so clear your calendars. FM.24.09 will be the weekend of September 12-13, 2009!
Check back here on fastermustache.org and on 24.fastermustache.org for details as they develop.

wow
This graphic is both glorious and terrifying. It fills me with hope for the future of bicycle racing.
Will there be squids there
Will there be squids there for real? Sounds exciting. :-D
???
OK, so can someone explain to us noobs (me) what FM24 is exactly?
http://fastermustache.org/fm2
http://fastermustache.org/fm24 or use the links on 24.fastermustache.org. there is a lot there :)
Ah. I kept searching the
Ah. I kept searching the forums and only ever found stuff about when it was or should be, not what. Now I know!
fm24 is all things to all men
and maybe one lucky woman.
yes
hey, team fahrradgemeinschaft! will you still have me even if september 12 will be officially my first day back in the western hemisphere (and thus my first day back on a bicycle) after 3.5 months?
nice work, KR
i think mastodon wrote a song about this poster
epic
and 'bout time
its official
I think that poster should clear up any doubt. FM:Race Mountain Bike Team wants revenge. AVX, look out!
I believe Albert Einstein
I believe Albert Einstein said, "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." What a wise old man he was...
AAAAAAAAARGH
Ticket prices... I'm-a gonna make it happen somehow.

In my sleep, with a leg tied behind my back and towing Seth wearing pink diapers in an antique carriage.
Don't...
mess around.
Oops sorry
forgot it was meant to be a secret. At least I did not tell anyone about Mr. Wanky, right.
Alex... that was OUR secret.
Alex... that was OUR secret. It was supposed to be OURS and for no one else. ::sob:: ::sob::
OK, I'm trying to see if my
OK, I'm trying to see if my parents will come into town that weekend and watch my son. So pending their OK, I'll be looking for a team to join.
What if I don't fit into the goat or the squid categories?
you fit
just show up... there will be teams being formed left and right
or you can be like alex, and
or you can be like alex, and race solo till you almost pass out
excellent idea
highly recommended
you almost passed out during
you almost passed out during the race last year? poor thing. I didn't have any such problems myself.
No plans on racing solo.
Here's hoping things don't turn out like they did in middle school when we'd play kickball.
no such memories
but it were to happen, it would be because people behind me were soooooooo sloooooow that I got bored
Mileage
What's the mileage for each lap?
http://fastermustache.org/fm2
http://fastermustache.org/fm24 has the details from years past. 24.fastermustache.org has all the public details we have so far for fm.24.09
I swear I read through it all
I swear I read through it all CK, I just didn't see anything in there about how many miles the lap was. The map was quite frustrating, in that it didn't give any measurements.
the racers go from checkpoint to checkpoint
the mileage varies depending on the route you choose.
Because there is no set
Because there is no set route, there is no way to determine official lap mileage. You get from checkpoint to checkpoint however you wish. Last year most people's laps were between 11.8 and 13 miles depending on which roads they were taking.
jinx
d'oh
mileage usually hovers
between 10 and 15 miles/lap
Roving SAG wagon
SSWC is the next weekend, can't blow myself up. I think I'll just provide race support via the Big Dummy, and train my liver a bit.
.
you've a big dummy?
right then
it's on
?
?
M.I.A.
You big dummy
ahh
not a fan. thanks for explaination
awesome
my FM:Race teammate! I hope you will not be neutral support.
Shit talking aside...
yours truly will be rootin' for ya.
I'll still kick you ass, of course, but I'll cheer you on every time I pass you on a lap.
likewise
I am rooting for you to triumph over the daunting hurdles you will be facing-- not training as hard as me, not being in good shape, having a mediocre bike, travel fatigue...
I'll have you know madam
That I am in excellent shape. Round is as good a shape as any.
You are right about the training though. There just aren't as many races in the calendar here, so I have been doing most of my cycling in spin classes - good effort, but they are too short.
prepare to be chicked
No matter what you are actually doing, the only correct reply was that you are training like a batshit-crazy maniac, and that the difficulty of cycling in the lawless urban jungle of Recife is hardening you to a degree that I could never reach. And, that the bike you will be riding during fm24 is so nice it will be like bringing a gun to a knife fight.
I think this may be easier than I expected... spin class, eh?
clearly
I passed you so fast last time that you did not notice the bike...
If motorists pulled guns on you in Atlanta, Recife would be preparing me beautifully.
o rly
you are correct, I didn't notice your bike. Do tell, Alex...
ask Gabe
he calls it "The Spaceship"
umm
Eduardo ain't using metal anymore?
He is
but sparingly, mostly screws, cogs, chain and wheels (which may get swapped for dinossaurs once I leave she shithole income class I am in right now and shave a few pounds off the ole guteps muscle).
oh
So this is a plastic bike? which you refer to as "he"? that's cute.
he = Edoardo
"grandfather of the modern bicycle?"
Henceforth renamed
"The Spaceship" aka "Brock's Black Nightmare"
