I just voted

It was very easy and painless. Cost me one postage stamp.

Just so you know, it's totally easy to vote ahead of time in Georgia for no reason at all.

You can do it by mail, or in person Mon-Fri 9-5 Anytime from now until Nov 4th.

Doesn't get much easier than that. Earn your right to bitch about government for the next 4 years.

Thanks for the info!

I'm sending in my by-mail ballot application. Didn't know you could vote by mail for 'no reason' in Georgia. One stamp seems like a much better deal than biking/driving/whatever and waiting in line.

In the spirit of George P Burdell

In the spirit of George P Burdell, I'm registered and have already voted in every county in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Repent, the end is near!!! lol.

sent in my absentee vote today!

however you should all know:

if you vote absentee by mail, your vote won't be counted unless its a close race (i.e. number of votes difference < number of absentee ballots). So if you are voting "to have your voice heard (i.e. third party)" you shouldn't vote absentee by mail.

all of the "absentee in person" votes are electronic and automatically counted on election day.

also, regardless of how you vote, before heading down to do so, check to make sure your registration has been processed:

Reagan County - sure. Guerciotti, do you want to come? We can swing by Maverick County (not made up) so you can check on yours.

For those joe six-packs out there insisting on playing the drinking game until November, have a drink.

Plus we can use the killing I made selling my tickets to the Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds show tonite at the 930 club to buy gas.

Voter guide

http://a4.thevoterguide.org/a-ajc08/

For some reason Obama's campaign answered the questions in third person.

This League of Women Voters guide is the only tool I've found for the relatively obscure local positions in the past. Are there any other good guides or sources of info on the candidates?

AJC early voting numbers...

Atlanta has ~60%

Atlanta has ~60% african-american population. DeKalb and Fulton counties are about 30% african-american. Since most of the early votes are coming from Atlanta and surrounding areas, 40% does not seem abnormal.

way to put it in perspective

way to put it in perspective there jerk.
don't you mean: "it's those damn pesky democrats again!! arg!"?

it probably is the

it probably is the democrats. I mean, how can we rig an honest election if there's a paper trail?
