I don't care if you want him to win or not. I'm just trying to decide if I should register here in OR or vote absentee in GA.

I hear the Obama campaign's pulling staff out of Georgia, so I think it's a long shot.

obama's been 40-45% since march, while mccain has been 50-55%.
i kind of think so
I think when they take the polls they don't count the newly registered voters, and they don't call cell phone users- which is practically everyone youngish... maybe I'm wrong about that but there could be a surprise. Jim Martin is even with Chambliss now, that was unexpected too. Ok, Obama probably doesn't have a real chance but I bet it will be closer than they're thinking now.
39 County Metro Area
Is where the vast majority of the people live in the state. Given how much we bash OTP... you can figure this one out on your own.
saw a recent pole was
saw a recent pole was shocked that it's even this close in GA: 52% McCain, 44% Obama:

fine
ugg, I don't know what to do!
probably still a long shot
but closer than GA's been in a long time. Lisa's point about new voters is a good one.
If anyone's moved recently (or gasp - not registered) I have forms!
Or you can do it online now.
do it
no, don't. if you aren't
no, don't. if you aren't registered properly by now you probably don't have sufficient interest or self-education on the politics or politians. Gabe, don't encourage people who will vote based on things like "that man has a funny sounding name" or "he's so old, he'll probably die" to vote. these people should be left out of the voting pool. voting is not a right, it's a privilege granted or withheld at the discretion of local and state governments, based on who they deam qualified. Unforunately, most of their "qualifications" revolve around trivial things like possession of a valid photo ID (Georgia, Indiana), and not matters of substance like awareness of current affairs (but that's probably because it's harder to bullshit an educated populace...all the more reason why the uneducated masses shouldn't be voting). The US constitution prevents local gov from descriminating against race sex and age (AM XV, XIX, XXVI), but protection against descrimination is not the same as granting of rights.*
i consider myself undereducated with regard to this election, and will either be abstaining, or voting for Barr (not because i like him or his politics but because i know he will lose and "third" parties in Georgia (esp) need all the help they can get to break the duopoly that currently controls our State/Country).

Don't listen to him
I'm going to make my choice based on a roll of the dice I am going to make in the booth. Compared to most people's shallow reasons for voting for their candidate I think it's a pretty good way to make decisions (Entropy/Anarchy FTW).
"he's so old, he'll probably
"he's so old, he'll probably die"
Oh, but what about, "he's so old, he'll probably die AND THEN THAT CRAZY STUPID LADY WILL BE PRESIDENT?" Regardless of fiscal policy, I can't vote for the republican ticket based on the fact that the candidates have gone on the record saying they want to make it legal to discriminate against me and people I care about. Furthermore, anyone who does not recognize the fact that Gov. Palin is an abject moron is either ignorrant, delusional or themselves an abject moron. I'm tired of electing people who did worse than me in school to the most powerful offices in our nation. I will agree that both choices suck. But unsatisfactory as they are, the differences between them are clear. Anyone who's indifferent at this point is not paying attention.

Well last night Sarah was making the lesbians all hot for teacher. Of course there was alcohol involved but they were all excited about Sarah, kinda funny really.
no.
let the record show that i am a lesbian who does NOT find sarah attractive. not at all.
my girlfriend might think she's hot, but still....
Is that your answer to the
Is that your answer to the OP question? I tend to agree.
or, i might vote Obama,
or, i might vote Obama, because he stands the best chance of increasing social programs which would keep even more people from ever having the motivation to better themselves and become self-sufficient ("why work harder when the gov helps me for doing nothing?")... and the last thing i want is people competing for my job.
oh yeah, go with your selfish instincts
Don't forget that once Obama, ie. the great one, is our new lord and master, er, I mean landlord, er, I mean mortgage owner, do you really think he'll foreclose and evict you? He's gonna need your vote to get re-elected in four years, because you can't be great without getting re-elected.
So vote Obama, stop paying your mortgage and the men in black will visit you (might even call first) and magically reduce your mortgage balance if you'll agree to start making payments again. If they can hold a gun to your head, can't you do likewise? (rhetorically speaking of course)
btw, when will the new Campy 11 speed Super Record groupo start shipping? It can't be more than a couple of mortgage payments, can it? Greedy Italians.
it's not selfish
it's enlightened self-interest

Leaked: Homer To Vote For Obama
In an episode of 'The Simpsons' slated to run November 2, Homer Simpson will vote for Barack Obama.
As Homer tries to vote for Obama, a machine changes the vote to McCain and proceeds to kill him.

OR = hippyville
Obama's gotta have a better shot of getting GA than McCain does of getting Oregon, right?
I'd guess whoever you want to win, your vote would matter more in GA.

maybe i'm crazy
but since it seems like GA is shored up, it would be a good idea to vote for (of the 9 people running) the person you really wanted to win.
.
the voter registration both convinced me that enough people are going to vote for nader/mckinney/whoever in OR that it'll still be close here.
so yeah, f u GA! (not really)
