Last night i was leaning on a light post and i slid my weight down and there was this metal zip-tie holding those fancy hanging cloth light post banners and it sliced the inside of my ring finger knuckle to the bone. I can't even come close to wrapping my hand around a set of handlebars without nearly passing out right now. FUN TIMES! Sorry, I'm just mad as hell and venting. I have no health insurance, so now I'm relying on liquid bandages to hold it together wrapped in gauze and surgical tape.

it's been my experience with things like that: stitches are really a pretty good idea to get. I've had two situations similar to yours where I did not get stitches, and I wish I had.
At least go to CVS and get some of the butterfly closure things (like this)
