About the bike... and recumbent racing on velodromes.... and land speed records

OK folks, some of you saw my recumbent on Wed. night.
I've racing bents since 2003. I'm not going to get into flame wars over is it a "real" bike or not, but just showing a few pics of velodrome racing on bents. They are better suited to open road riding than in town. I still think a traditional Diamond framed bike would be better for knocking around in town with lots of traffic. maybe I'll try to lace up a singlespeed rear wheel for it.
They were banned by UCI in the 1930's in the heyday of track racing because they were "too fast" and "Unsafe".. and just the typical political BS that is the UCI.
With no fairings they are fast, with tailboxes(fairing on the back only) they are really fast, with a full fairing they are HOLY FRICK HOW FAST AM I GOING fast.

So... here's a link to some pics from various events for anyone interested .
