Small chain rings for 130mm BCD

Dfunk's picture

Anybody know of any chainrings for 130mm BCD smaller than 38 teeth? I'd like to widen my gear range a bit. (Yay crosschaining your double to hell!) I think I've seen rings with tabs that reach out past the teeth to attach to a big crank spider. Anybody have any ideas where to get them? Right now I've got a 39 for my "little" ring and one tooth in the front doesn't seem worth a change. But a few more and I could be convinced.

Hmm...

I assume you don't want to go triple right?

Other than that, a compact crank may be the only answer.

These mystery rings sound like a possibility... if they exist (and if they can hold together).

.

38 T = min 130 mm BCD unless you really want to shell out dough for a 37 T.

Also note that 34 T is the min for 110 mm BCD.

also note that Paul is full

also note that Paul is full of shit. If you were to fabricate an inverted chainring (teeth on the inside) and used a chain with no rollers or pins you would be able to run as small a gear combination as you like.
