I've been coming up pretty dry on the job search these last few weeks, and I was wondering if any of y'all could give me some recommendations/know of open spots where you work.
I'm a pretty decent writer, and I've been making some money as a freelance journalist (mainly music articles) and editor. I've worked a lot of odd jobs: 5 weeks as a waiter in Turkey (left when my work visa ran out), 3 months doing inventory and tech support work at a seasonal position in Chicago, a few summers teaching archery to boy scouts, 1.5 years working behind the counter of a smoothie shop, a summer working on the line in a cupcake factory (seriously), another summer putting packing fish in a warehouse, and 4 months helping with bookkeeping at Buckhead Life Restaurant Group's office.
At this point, I'd be happy with any sort of work, as long as it left me with a little time to work on my writing, and was close enough to commute to from Midtown.
So, got any leads?

for truck unload, merch processing. I've been doing it for three years in addition to grad school. Pays well. Not sure how many hours you could get right now, but we get trucks at least once a week. try an employment agency, they are free and you can find decent work. I just got a job at netflix.
