knee pain!

What to do about knee pain?

This all started when I went to san francisco in march for a week. I borrowed a pos schwinn road bike from someone and it had one of those saddles that cradles your buttcheeks and nothing else (very similar to this). riding it for over a half hour gave me horrible knee pain that i've never felt before, since your legs can't fully extend without the back of your leg running in to the saddle. me and my gf would trade off in increments who had to ride the shit saddle.

anyways, that trip was like three months ago, and my knees still hurt when i bike. and they had never hurt on a bike prior to that trip. i am still biking, not doing any huge mashing or anything...biking pretty much how i always have, just with slight knee pain now.

Any suggestions?

Three months?

I think if you are still have pain after three months you need to visit a doctor.

.

tweak the saddle height?

sometimes the seat post on my commuter would slip down, and the back of my right knee would get sore/tight.

It'd perpetually stay that way until I took a day or two off and stretched.

the rule of thumb is that if

the rule of thumb is that if the front of your knee hurts, then lower your seat a touch until the pain goes away, of course if the back of the knee hurts then raise the seat. But always make (very) small changes.

craig?

Craig is that you or someone posting as you? I didn't know you had knee pain!

By the way, my friend in high school had that saddle and used to use it when we mountain biked. Man is that thing stupid!
