This won some kind of international design competition. I can definitely see something along those lines catching on here pretty soon.

Great idea
just looks a bit warm for riding in August in Atlanta...
Brakes?
Braking? Your doing it wrong!
I think that there are some taillights from Lumotec that do this also.
I think that Peterwhitecyling.com has them, but I'd need to check.
my brain
is confused... is that supposed to be so dweeby that it is cool, or is just dweeby, or is it that being just dweeby makes it cool again.
The article also mentions underwear that helps correct your posture. I shudder to think how that might be accomplished. Jeff, you have good posture. Do tell, is it just all those years of finishing school or is it your underwear?
Neither
non-recreational sex products (toys just didn't seem to fit, tic).
non-recreational sex products
non-recreational? You mean professional stuff? You big porn star you! I thought that was you in DaddiesAndTweens.com.
See here you guys go again
See here you guys go again about non-recreational again. A business expense is a business expense.
Soooooo...
business expense, heh? It that what you call a Sam's Club receipt for 50 boxes of Kleenex a month?
Don't forget we split five
Don't forget we split five cases of Aveeno too.
Gee
I go away for a few hours, working on my bottom bracket, and all ya'll can discuss is self-abuse. Suck it up.
Bottom Bracket?
Now you are just baiting
O rly?
ISIS is crap! I'm tired of replacing my Giga Pipe every year. I'm thinking of retiring the cranks and getting something more conventional.
What can I say
You are a primate after my own heart, dear sir. May the universe keep you well supplied with carrot cigars, and this time I do not intend any puns.

IMO, the new external bearing style BB/cranks are the way to go.
On a long tour, square taper might be better for availablility in remote locations, however.
I starting to be leery of the latest and greatest
I think I will have better luck in the long term if I stick with a bottom bracket technology that has stood the test of time. I'm tired of buying new Giga Pipe ISIS bb every year for ~$45. I have never had any issues with square taper rounding off (just keep the crank bolts tight), the bearing are adequately sized for the load, and they don't cost an arm and a leg.
ISIS was just a bow shot to Shimano's Octalink. Solutions looking for chump change.
agreed
I think square taper is great. It's all I have. There are a lot of photos floating around of sheared spindles -- only an issue for very heavy or hard riders.
But I think external cups are a good solution for the few who experience the problem and will stand the test of time, eventually.
Question about that
What cup size is your bike?
Sounds like a pick-up line
If you are asking me, this is my current bb:
