What's going on at DLV tomorrow night? Anything? I went to the EPVA site and they don't list any pursuits or beginner/women/old men races for the 29th. I'm actually feeling in shape(ish) enough to go down there and ride. Anybody wanna set up a training session if nothing else is going on? Maybe we can even talk to Brian or somebody and get the stable open for those who don't own their own bikes yet. And of course, if I go, I can drive people. Any takers?
Event Name:

check on this but...
Tuesdays they are doing "Wednesday Night Racing" but for riders who have not "graduated" to Wednesday night. Its new this year so that might be why they don't have their calendar updated. Basically you have to earn a certain amount of points racing Tuesdays (84 points I think?) and attend a certain amount of Tuesday races (5 I think?) before you can begin racing Wednesday nights, unless of course you raced Wednesdays last year. In that case you would be grandfathered in.
I know
I was planning to do the bi-weekly Tuesday beginner races for a while even though I raced the Wednesday races last year. The calendar specifically lists the beginner races or pursuits for the other weeks of this month and the next but there's nothing at all listed for for tomorrow night. Hence my question.
5 Tuesdays
Yeah, the idea is they do two beginner/womens/masters nights and two pursuit nights a month. April happens to have 5 tuesdays and so tomorrow, the fifth tuesday, appears to be unscheduled. I think y'all should head down there and ride no matter what! And shoot Brian an e-mail about opening the stable.
David: If you get a large group together, I will come down and give y'all notes. I won't be riding much because I am blasted from my race this weekend and I am resting for our 12 hour race on Saturday.
Makes sense!
All sounds awesome. Posting event now.
Oh, do we have access to the lights and stuff even if nobody comes down to unlock the bike room? I was going to schedule it for 7ish.
thats a good question
Normally, the answer to the question would be "yes" as all of the light switches are accessible. However, last week they were having some major light malfunctions. So be sure to ask Brian if they have that stuff fixed when you e-mail him.
Lights not fixed yet
Pete says they haven't fixed the lights yet. Sunset for tomorrow is scheduled for 8:20pm. Maybe have a shorter, earlier training? 6-8:30ish?
DOH!
Yeah, better change up the time.
FYI: Velodrome scheduling
FYI: Velodrome scheduling info
1) Steve Hill has announced that he'll be on the track for training during the following times.
Friday @ 15:45 - 1900
Sunday from 0900-1300
2) Usually a group of Juniors train on Sunday afternoons, say 2pm to 4pm, but I don't think they've started yet due to school or whatever.
3) Lights. Its not that you can't ride at night its just that the switch for the lights on the front stretch craps out after about 30min to 1hr, but the funny thing is that as the season progresses it dies less. So you can probably count on a lit track until ~9pm.
We'll see
Brian said to hold off.
I'll be there (probably early)
I'll be taking MARTA down there and I'll be leaving from downtown (Five Points Station) around 5 if anyone wants to meet up.
dear greggory.
If I don't make it over to ben's beforehand, can you bring my spd pedals? I left them in a white grocery bag on the fireplace in the bike room. Also, a pedal wrench would be lovely.
how bad do you need them?
i brought all my stuff with me to work and i was going to leave from here. If you need them, i can run back home and get them.
lets talk over aim.
I love that we have a "bike
I love that we have a "bike room".
track lights
Riders at the track confirmed last night the lights were working fine (at least for a couple hours). I will be arriving at the track about 6:30. See you guys tonight.
Cool
Let's call it 6:30 then.
