Tour De Georgia

Tour De Georgia is happening right now.
I imagine that some of you might be taking in the festivities Sunday at the downtown finish. Since I live a bazillion miles to the north I was able to check out the stage 3 finish and stage 4 first hand.

The finishing stage should be pretty cool. If you choose to view from along the route, then you'll see the group pass and all the support vehicles and hats pretty much it. Viewing will be much better if you go to the finish area, where they are running a large video display of LIVE footage, and the announcers keep you up to speed on whats happening on the course. The announcers are much better than I thought they would be, and are able to point out even the most subtle race tactics to the uninitiated. There is a vendor area with a bunch of bikey schwag, free raffle for a Cannondale road bike, a bunch of stuff for kids to do. Fun times if you are a race fan or just a bike person in general.
