I apologize if this has been discussed already, but my search for "trimmer" didn't turn up anything relevant. "Unshaved" seems the punfully obvious place to post it:

What mustache/beard trimmer do you use, and are you happy with it?

a straight razor, after a sharp (get it) learning curve im happy with it, don't get the stubble look though if thats what your after.
