It's almost that time, but IMPORTANT: new categories.
If you're new, you'll have to race every other Tuesday before you can race on Wednesdays. check out their site for the details:

First beginner race is on April 1st.

First Beginner Race
is scheduled for the same night as Women's/Master's Racing! I had no idea about this and am now trying to understand how this is going to work!!
eep.
Now I'm even more intimidated.
no, this should actually
no, this should actually make racing more accessible.
oic
I just realized I'd confused Masters with Elite. Haha...not quite.
Also:
Can someone explain how the $$ side of things work? I was reading that you need a pass and/or pay per race? I couldn't tell what exactly I need to do.
At a minimum you'll need $10
At a minimum you'll need $10 to race tonight and every other non-FoS weeknight race. Other events have their own fees, FoS, Steve Hill Sprints, etc.
If you wanna train at the track when an event is not happening you need to pay for a summer training pass which is $50. But you dont need this if you only plan to just do race events, ie. Tues/Wed/FoS/etc.
Or, you can just buy a One-Pass for $250 which will cover this summer and next winter's training pass requirement and all Tuesday/Wednesday night races, FoS, plus more etc.
If you plan on being a track regular and assuming no-rain outs, which is a big assumption, then the One-Pass deal saves you about $150+, but its been awhile since I've done that calculation.

Starting out, you probably want the Summer Training Pass (covers April to October) for $50, and then pay race entry fees a la carte for $10 per race night (one race night is typically 3 races).
Plus, you need a number to race. I think you have to pay $10 for your race number (one-time only, unless you lose it). Hang on to your number, it's how they track your points through the season.
fees
Some further clarification:
Tuesday or Wednesday racing is $10 per night. No extra fee for your number. Festival Of Speed events (there will be 3 this year) have higher entry fees.
If you want to come out and use the track for training, that's where the season training fee comes in. For new riders completing a class in 2008...your class fee will cover the training fee for this season.
New riders are encouraged to race every Tuesday until they move up to Wednesdays. The Tuesday racing will alternate will between mass start and time trial events. 1st and 3rd weeks being mass start races and alternate weeks all TT races.
thanks.
That clears things up nicely.
weather?
