Fed Ex run ins

Has anyone else had problems with fed ex trucks around here? I've had three separate near accidents with them. All three times they have made a right turn directly in front of me, cutting me off and forcing me into traffic to avoid face planting in the side of the truck.

i've had two close calls

i've had two close calls with Fed Ex trucks. One was like you described, a right turn directly in front of me, no blinkers or indication that he was turning. In that case, after forcing me on an unexpected 90 degree turn the driver did finally see me - and judging by the look on his face he realized that he had screwed up.

The other time, the driver was backing into a side driveway -- quite suddenly gunned it forward to re-align and very nearly took me out in the process. Driver never noticed me, even after the fact.

fool me once

so, the conclusion is to watch out for Fed Ex trucks making unexpected right hand turns.....and watch out for any car making a right hand turn as they're not thinking about a biker at all

watching out is the only

watching out is the only reason mine was merely a close call.

I love this

but what I love even more is that Pete Townshend told Michael Moore to fuck off when he asked if he could use "Won't Get Fooled Again" in Fahrenheit 911

If you have ever driven a

If you have ever driven a box or bread truck, you will understand that the only non-blind spot is directly in front of you.

I've driven a couple big

I've driven a couple big u-hauls, so I can dig that. I am just more curious as to why it has always been fed-ex trucks.

b/c UPS sucks and FedEx ends up being cheaper on large items?

Somehow I never seem to

Somehow I never seem to cross paths with FedEx trucks.

MARTA buses, however, are out to get me. Doesn't matter if I'm riding or driving, they're running me down.

Tenth street mow down.

I think there is a particular marta bus driver who has a route down tenth who takes particular delight in buzzing me while laboring up that nasty hill.

FedEx rules

A driver with 3 traffic incidents is dismissed, regardless of fault. Not sure how that applies to close calls, but hey, it may be a good deterrent...

if it's yellow, let it mellow. if it's brown...

They've been pretty cool

They've been pretty cool with me, though I haven't encountered any outside of neighborhoods.

British Airways Brings in FedEx to Reduce Bag Backlog (Update1)
By Tracy Alloway

April 1 (Bloomberg) -- British Airways Plc canceled 50 flights at London Heathrow airport's new Terminal 5 and brought in U.S. courier firm FedEx Corp. to help reunite passengers with about 20,000 delayed bags.

The airline scrapped 13 percent of scheduled flights from the terminal on the sixth day of disruption at Europe's busiest airport. Another 50 flights will be abandoned tomorrow, British Airways spokeswoman Sophie Greenyer said.

Cancellations caused by the failure of the 4.3 billion- pound ($8.5 billion) terminal's computerized baggage system total more than 300 since it opened on March 27. The number of bags waiting to be returned to their owners has risen by about one-third in the past two days, though the airline is now making progress in working through the backlog, British Airways said.

``We are making progress on the backlog but getting bags back to passengers is complicated and quite time-consuming,'' spokeswoman Greenyer said. Hundreds of volunteers from the London-based carrier and courier firms including FedEx have been drafted in to forward the luggage to its owners, she said.
