Saw it coming while at A&P

Saw it coming while at A&P Lofts. That was crazy. We got to see Atlanta without a single light on. Then the explosions, trash flying through the air, freight train sound, etc.

I went home afterwards to check on things, and my power was out but everything was in one piece. Theres trash everywhere, but no downed power lines or anything on my street.

Apparently Cotton Mill lofts didn't do so well..

Word.

Word.

I would like to thank my brother for calling me after the tornado passed my house (he knew it was headed right for us)... checking to see if I was alive, and then sounding disappointed when he found out I was :(

Heading to Cabbagetown now.

Heading to Cabbagetown now. A house 3 or 4 over from Jenny's was hit by a tree and of course the Cotton Mill lofts on Carroll Street are destroyed/pancaked.

the storm was so dark/intense in midtown last night that it blacked out all the towers across piedmont park and all the street and traffic lights below me from the 9th floor.

I'm in DC, and I really want to hear a roll call! I hope people are ok!!!

Has anyone heard from the folks who live in the Cotton Mill Lofts yet?

Cabbagetown looked worse,

Cabbagetown looked worse, but East Atlanta got hit pretty good too. Debris and big trees down through the village. Glenwood was completely blocked by big tree earlier, 2 more giant trees blocking the road to my house - not even passable on foot. I spotted several badly damaged houses (A house 1 block over from mine got a direct hit) - and lots of power lines where they shouldn't be. The little shed in my back yard lifted up a couple feet off the ground - then the roof blew off.

My offices on two floors of

My offices on two floors of The Equitable Building got ventilated pretty well. Lots of scattered stuff, broken glass, millwork and walls dislocated, chairs, artwork tossed about. Interestingly, no water damage.

My office at Centennial Park

My office at Centennial Park got "ventilated" & water damage. And the trees in the courtyard were ripped up.

250 windows missing or

250 windows missing or damaged! You are right. None of us who have watched storms in awe from high places would have fared well last night.

I never thought I would be

I never thought I would be anything other than annoyed that my upper-floor office (at Georgia State) has no windows. Yay windowless offices!

Mike & I are ok. Just a couple shingles, fencing down, and pieces of the Cotton Mill in our yard. Tye St. stopped the tornado for us. Thanks for caring, those who called <3

There's a community meeting at 10am Sunday at the Ctown community center next to the park, if anyone is interested in helping. Ctown has a long way to go.

Hellz yeah, lots of trees like that in C-town, but it also cost me a flat tire so that was as far downtown as I ventured. I'll email it to ya later today, after I fix my flat...

direct hit!

Direct hit on A&P lofts!

A&P suffered broken windows (building and cars) and some torn up A/C units on the roof, but not too much else. The bulding across the street underconstruction saw half of a CMU (cinder block) stair tower come down!

Since ckdake said he watched

Since ckdake said he watched it from A&P, I assmed that it and you guys were ok. Glad you're fine.
