Probably a typo. Wonder what size it is. That frame pump looks sweet.

.

yeah. 99% chance the author of the post meant 27" wheels.

Of course, if you're riding steel and don't mind getting canti studs brazed on, anything is possible.

Meh, it's probably easier to

Meh, it's probably easier to drill out your existing brake bosses to accept dual pivot calipers. (Yes, you need to drill them if the nut that goes on the caliper bolt is one of those long ones that's supposed to recess inside the fork.)

dual pivots and recessed

dual pivots and recessed nuts have nothing to do with it. getting any calipers, to reach a 26" wheel (or smaller) on a frame/fork designed for 27" wheels ain't worth it. anything with that much reach will have insufficient stopping power. hell, my (standard) long reach are bottomed out on my old trek.

Oops, misunderstood

Didn't realize you were still referring to 26" wheels.

It's extremely unlikely that they're 26" wheels as mtb hubs are space differently than road hubs from that era (as well as ones from the present...)

However, they might be the freakish schwin-specific wheels that don't work with anything else whose actual measurement currently eludes me.

I've been pretty lucky with my brakes. I don't think my calipers are long reach but I've got plenty of spare reach on 700c rims on my old trek. I guess all frames are different.
