you can do picasa web but last time I checked it wasn't flickr and doesn't have a remote API so that I can pull the data and images and do fun things with it. (easily)

similar API. less people use is. less emphasis on tagging.

Show me an API that lets me get both the Picasa and Flickr information in one API and I'll be convinced.

you can, but eventually all pictures from FM will move to a newer better home so whatever works!
