My ex girlfriend, who is now among my best friends, inherited my old 1970’s bright yellow ladies Huffy with 2 big panier style baskets in the back. I bought it when we were dating and lived in Manhattan (bought her a purple ladies Raleigh that got stolen). We both moved to London about a year apart, and she moved back to NY shortly after I got here. I had loaned the Huffy to one of my former RAs who moved to IL and left the bike with her boyfriend. He was not using it, so my ex now has the bike back and is one of those NY bike girls.
Think about it - sucessful, cosmopolitan professional women riding bikes. What is not to like about that?

cause it's true, when girls ride bikes, the bikes are just fashion accessories! we all know girls go "giddy" over accessories! and looking cute, because the highest pinnacle of achievement that a girl can possibly reach is looking cute! the women-- oops, i mean girls-- and their bikes are both objects meant for looking at! plus girls are bad at riding bikes, just like they're bad at driving. and bad at anything involving machines, really. or thinking, girls are bad at thinking too.
