2407 Race Categories? Is the 24 hour race going to be judged by genitals and drive trains, or is it just going to be teams and solo? Goats and Squids (stupid IMHO)? One of the reasons I ask is because I am on the fence as to which bike to ride (I'm racing solo). If there is one solo category gears are obvious, if it's separate fixed/geared then I have a dilemma (prolly fixed). |

the important part is doing the most laps. there might be a fun fastest fixie or something, but the point is doing the most laps and doing them the fastests. Individual # and Team # will both be taken into consideration.

We will not give separate recognition for the first fixed or first free. we do not wish to give any special bike any special attention. Ride whatever you like. The NoBrakes Omnium will be a great chance to show off your brakeless fixie skills, so bring both bikes.

There's about 10 of us solo riders so far. Anyone have times yet? I'm tryin' to get a feeling for where I'm at. Did route first time last night at 54'29. How's that compare? I'm also gonna brave the slickiness later tonight and put in 2 practice laps if anyone's up for it.

it took me at least that long just to find dekalb ave from johnny's even with a map, but now i've got it.
now i am working on remembering the skate escape checkpoint. i am sort of depending on the 10th st road closure to force my memory

2 cooler laps last night
The rain last night really cooled things down. The hardest part for me to remember was when to turn for octane. Overshot it and lost like 3 minutes, but I ain't listening to anyone till I hear your time on a complete lap.
Has anyone else even timed themselves? So far my shortcuts have shaved down the distance to 14.34 miles. Taking it little easier I still got down to 50'57. I'm out there every night now if anyone else wants to train.

X and I gazed over our massive (and secret) pile of prizes last night and hashed out the categories and prizes. Here are most of the categories that will be awarded prizes:
Team Awards (4-6 person team that completes the most laps): 6 deep
Solo Awards (solo rider that completes the most laps): 4 deep
Fastest Lap Overall
Fastest Lap Female (if the above is not won by a female)
Most laps completed by a female rider
Other miscellaneous awards will be decided on the day of the race. Also, there will be separate prizes for the NoBrakes Omnium.
What about
the Prize for the sexiest Brazilian? There ought to be one.

But hey, if people want me to judge that kind of Brazilian, I am glad to do it. I figure that yours is probably the only one I wouldn’t really want to see and the other ones are probably rather nice.
