and wee need another screen printing party...and I'm not on a team

9 person squads?
9 person squads?
yeah, perhaps a discussion
yeah, perhaps a discussion of team size would be useful before discussing teams.
Keine Panik! Will Take You
All ya have to do is agree... I'm fielding/organizing two six-person teams this year.
One will be competitive, and I'll be on the other one.
(Hey Gabe, wanna be Hauptman for our competitive team?)
but I've never Haupt a man before
...
+1
....... >_-
If Nuclear Rocket Punch is not reforming
then I want to be on your noncompetitive team. Mostly for the shirt. Oh yes, and your stellar company. :P
AYE!
You're onboard.
t-minus nine days
If there's an all girls team or team of dudes I know I would want to be apart of it.
girls team!
let's have an all-girl team, for reals
yo
e-mail me!
I'm setting up a competitive all girls team. So any women who want to race hard, let me know.
:)
t-minus
one week until i move back to the atl! we'll talk (noninternets) when i finally meet you all then
may have a couple
some of the women i race with at the track are putting together a team, let me know if you got room. i'll need to talk to our organizer, maybe we can merge!
what to do
in theory, i'd sign up for an all girl team. but that means committing to being competitive.. because fuck if jes isn't going to be competitive.
just an idea
How about different groups of teams? Maybe like say solo, 4 people, and 8 people? I don't know, but if you don't set certain sizes then you might end up with weird numbers. Perhaps there should be an option when you reg, if you don't want to solo to go into a potluck team. I don't know how you did it years prior, since I never knew about it.
That's exactly what we've
That's exactly what we've done in years prior.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Yes, in years previous, when
Yes, in years previous, when a person arrived without affiliation, and they wanted some, they would jump aboard a team (much, if not all, of the team formation during '05 was like this).
The most heated competitions though are solo and fastest lap. If I were a strategist... and I was going for fastest lap... I'd enter solo and then wait until the timing was right, much like Melvin did last year (the timing, not the solo part).
For solo... I figure it's about rhythm.
so how does a team signup,
so how does a team signup, deadline, fees, etc.?
soon
Registration has not started yet. Roger/budgeting still has to determine the entry fee based on our anticipated costs. Keep your eyes/ears out for upcoming planning meetings where you can help us out.
die Fahrradgemeinschaft
So, far I've confirmed these folks for our two squads:
Team Panik! (more competitive) is lead by Gabe, who'll race with Jes, BOG, Gerry and two others.
I'll go with Team Keine Panik! (more recreational) and race alongside Anneke, Rebecca, Alex, Rosie and one other.
We plan to share sag support, juice'n'munchies, shift scheduling, tee-shirts, dummy prizes, resting/sleeping quarters, training, and basically all the stuff that worked well for us last year.
A few folks have expressed interest in joining our Fahrradgemeinschaft. If you're still interested, contact anyone on the teams to join us. If we have to form a third team we will. We're beginning training rides/ goofin' around this week.
I have a
semi injured leg as of this instant but I'm interested
Injured?
Cycle through the paaaaain!
Interested is good enough. I'll put your on the e-mail list for training.
I need a team! My riding
I need a team!
My riding is relatively speedy but my red light running might be kind of slow.
I am a 9-5 corporate stooge. Any training rides would need to be evenings/weekends.
I have been known to wear spandex and advertisements so watch out. I also have been known to ride to work so I am not a complete squid.
Any takers?
a 9-5 corporate stooge?
What is that, part time? (tic)
ouch!
ouch!
Don't listen to me
That is envy speaking.
epic bikes team .. someone follow up with them
i talked to mike at epic bikes in mcdonough today. i told him about the race and he's interested in sending a team (and racing himself). if any of the race organizers want to, i think it might be nice to call him and encourage them to participate.
you're a race organizer if
you're a race organizer if you want to be :)
oh hell no
i organize plenty, thank you. : )
plus, if you call, you can work in an ask for prizes.. nah mean? i just set you up is all.
so with the 200 rider limit
so with the 200 rider limit and the registration step #1 "pick a team name and your teammates" is there not so much gonna be people showing up solo and making teams just before the race this year? somebody wrote somewhere that half the teams last year were like that, just people showing up and forming teams just beforehand, but this year seems anti-that. is that right? i dont want to get locked out of the 200 by waiting to see if anybody will take my sorry ass on their team, but also i dont want to sign up for a solo and then find out somebody was willing to send me out for their team at 5 AM when nobody was looking
to help you out
a) we need a permanent thread for people looking for teams either on top of FM's main page or on race page
b) can we push back deadline to 11:30?
c) forming teams day of is encouraged and paying up front is awesome, so we'll work something out
a) someone create a thread,
a) someone create a thread, ill sticky it in the fm.24 forum.
b) for pre-registration? like 11:30 before the race? if thats the case, my vote is no
c) yes.
the tacos are gonna eatchoo
watch out for the all grrl vegetarian noncompetitive we-ride-because-we-like-to team, the tacos.. sponsored and fed by across the street.
