I installed a new theme in Gallery that is designed to work a lot better in an embedded environment. Let me know if you want it back the old way here. (or what you think)

Permissions Captain,
Permissions Captain, Permissions
Umm, why can I edit photos I didnt post? Hmmm.
permissions model != theme.
permissions model != theme.
Everyone can edit everything, that way people can rotate photos, organize them, etc. Notice you can't delete other peoples stuff...
Ah. Well I didnt dare edit
Ah. Well I didnt dare edit any photos.
Ok. Then why are next/previous no longer positioned above the photos where is makes sense rather than below the metadata that most ignore?
ADDED:
So when I changed the title of this photo:
http://fastermustache.org/gallery/biking/fm24/2006/ckdake/img_5561.jpg.h...
to "We are the Champions !!!", thats only visible to me apparently.
But when I gallery search (via another browser and not logged in):
http://fastermustache.org/search/gallery/We+are+the+Champions
if finds the right photo, but wont display my edited title. Nevermind the new title finally showed up in the other browser, seems like the cache is slow to purge items. oh well.
hmmm, visions of wikipedia spam/fights are coming on strong. ymmv.
you can now click on the
you can now click on the photo to go next/prev :)
That's so in embedded environments there will hopefully be less vertical scrolling to see pictures.
The current permissions model relies on people being nice. If people start to abuse it, things will change.
i like the click on photo
i like the click on photo for next/prev -- but i only get to go previous. is that an option somewhere?
i think it's partially
i think it's partially bustafied.. I'll see what I can do.
should I be able to delete
should I be able to delete photos that I upload?
i ask, because i can't.
nope. i don't think you
nope. i don't think you should be able to unless it's in an album you created.
toot toot
I can edit other people's photos. I just broke http://fastermustache.org/gallery/biking/fm24/2006/ckdake/img_5145.jpg.h... when I tested it.
thanks for bringing this up
thanks for bringing this up again. This has been mentioned a few times before. you didn't break it, you renamed it so the URL changed. The image is still in the album, etc, etc. I changed it back.
If this becomes a problem, draconian restrictions will go into place but I prefer is people can be nice and do things like rotate, add captions, organize, etc, other peoples pictures :/
I understand what you're
I understand what you're trying to do here, but allow me a couple of points:
1) First rule of these big bunch of tubes is that the URL should never change. period. eos. Internet is about hyperlinks and changable URLs break it completely.
2) Its not clear to me when viewing the gallery, who posted the original photo.
3) Annotations are fine, but I think they should be tied/indentified to/by whoever posts them, and this is not clear at the moment.
more thumbs
i like the old theme b/c it had more thumbs and i can view by pages
I'll crank up the thumbs per
I'll crank up the thumbs per page some and see what i can do about page numbers.
I just tried to upload a
I just tried to upload a .zip file.
"Platform Error

it looks like the file is uploaded, but it didn't unzip the pictures. If I click on the link to the file, I get:
"Security Violation
The action you attempted is not permitted.
Back to the Gallery

also tried the Publish XP option
"Internet Explorer Script Error
! An error has occurred in the script on this page.

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
[Yes] [No]"
It's impossible to upload the pictures, because after selecting an album the 'Next' button remains inactive.
for publishXP you gotta use
for publishXP you gotta use http://fastermustache.org/gallery2/ and get the registry plugin from there.
also tried 'Upload Applet'
"An optional part of Gallery Remote, jpegtran, could not be found or is malfunctioning. Gallery Remote will not be able to rotate images before uploading them.
You can find out how to fix this by going to this page:
Gallery Remote Bundled"
Optional functionality not there, but this one worked, yay!
jpegtran must be installed
jpegtran must be installed on your computer for that part of it, not tha server.
