Ok, I'm just updating post! I know a lot of the ladies have class, but I figured I'd move the event, just in case somebody's interested. This ride is really, really awesome! 21 miles of hilly Buckhead terrain. Not a beginner ride, some group riding skills needed. Although the pace is kinda fast, they regroup at the top of most hills.
time:

Location:
Peachtree Bikes in Buckhead

question.
so i'm gonna do this ride again because it was so much fun last time. it would be really cool if any of the other ladies were available to go, too.
but this time i want to find a way to ride to peachtree bikes. i'm actually trying to add miles, so i don't want to just shoot up peach. can anyone suggest a neighborhood route from L5P to this area of peachtree? more than likely, i'll just look a mapquest and figure something out, but any suggestion would be awesome. thanks!
I can't make this ride...
...but if you want to go through neighborhoods, you could go north on Highland (or on Barnett through Poncey Highlands) and cut over to Piedmont through the Morningside neighborhood (which is either nice and hilly or not, if you pick the right roads). Then go a little south on Piedmont (up a nice big hill) to the Prado and cut over to Peachtree from there.
kinda hilly or
a little more direct
It's still a lot of Peachtree, but the railroads and highways divide up the neighborhoods so much that it's hard to get through the city without taking major thoroughfares. If you want to avoid Peachtree altogher and you don't mind Lindbergh, the first part of this ride is nice, although I've not gone past Cheshire Bridge, which might be a pain, and I'm not sure I'd want to ride Lindbergh.
My class doesn't get out until 7:15 on Wednesdays, so unfortunately I can't make this ride until summer.
awesome awesome ride
so i just came back from this. FYI to the ladies, this is a great ride! the pace is quick but not break-neck and the atmosphere is so social and fun and supportive. everyone was so friendly and introduced themselves immediately. group riding skills are a necessity and it's certainly not a beginner but maybe a good ride for some of the ladies on this board. i met one woman who is also going to be at the track clinic this weekend!
see you all saturday!! (looks like the weather might be ok!)

This is a women’s only ride. Non- Sorella women are welcome and encouraged to come. We usually have dinner afterwards at a local restaurant. No ride if raining. My girlfriend/fiance, Linda
My girlfriend/fiance, Linda R., leads this ride. It's a beautiful route with a great group of riders. Join 'em and give them some info on the track training event (though we'll be riding the Tour de Pike on Saturday).
this looks great
but i can't do wednesday nights until the semester ends!
does this happen every week all year? i like hills.
The ride from Peachtree
The ride from Peachtree Bikes takes place during Daylight Savings Time. The rest of the year it's an evening coed ride in Stone Mountain Park.

connie we need to make a graduate student ride that starts at a coffee shop around 10pm and ends at a 24hr library.
the sad thing is
we could actually do that.
