Details:
I am going to be riding to the roswell city hall. i will be departing the liquor store at collier and peachtree for ride up at 8am sharp (to account for my being out of shape), and will be riding all the way up (not the return route... peachtree to peachtree dunwoody and beyond). this is a rather hilly, but doable ride. i will be riding it at a hearty (strenuous? brisk? whimpy?) pace. gears, water, and gloves will be recommended.
hit me up if you want to join in. or don't, i'm sure a marta caravan will form sooner or later.

its going to be in the 30s at 8am. I can't do early morning, long ride, AND cold all at once. 2 out of 3, maybe. but not all 3. I'll stay warm(ish) on marta until 9am.

I'd ride up there with ya, but I've only got one gear to bring with me. unless you wanna stop at the top of every hill for me to change out my rear cog. also, right now, I'm slow. I'm not sure that I'll be ready to knock out 20 hilly miles in an hour at 8am. but other than that, I might still join you.

well yer route goes right by the sandy spring station.

This is exactly what I've been looking up right now.
Lets be sane about this cuz the Panda is gonna drop everybody that rides with him. 17miles of hilly unfamilar terrain at 8am == dropped, bigtime.
Meet at Civic Center Marta Station @ 8am (its closer than the liquor store at Collier)
1) N11 - North Springs Station train leaves every 10min
2) ~30min train ride to end of Marta line, puts us @ 8:40am
3) ride 7 miles to Roswell @ 30-45 mins, puts us @ 9:20
4) Mass start to the Capital leaves at 9:45am
If you're running late, just take Marta till end of the line and then find a shortcut (based on what time it is) over to Roswell Road and fall into the mass of bikes. no big deal.
EDIT: Weather should be good, but cool. Dress accordingly.
