Everyone knows that Inman Park is one of the loveliest places to ride your bike through. Why don't we show our appreciation by taking part in the Inman Park Festival. We could build that bike pulled float that's been only an idea for a couple of years now. I know it's still a month and a half away, but we should go ahead and fill out a parade application if we want to take part! So, show some excitement if you're interested and I'll fill out our info.

Nicki and I just spoke briefly about this, and the whole trick here is that the float will be pulled by bicycles, so it can't be too huge or heavy to pull that off. I know we have plenty of bike power, but the physics/logistics of it might be a little tricky... I'll leave that to all you Tech geeks out there.

So i say that anyone who has any sort of creative gene in their body (this excludes mike of course) to start drawing out ideas or something and we can just consolidate it all into the final float thingy.

A list of points.
1) Godzilla represents the towering sometimes destructive sometimes beneficial individual in all of us. Some days, we get out there and we tear up the streets on our bikes and defy authority with our every breath, much like Godzilla. Somedays, it will take the entire army mobilized to even try to stop us and they will fail - much like Godzilla. And yet, otherdays, we are helpful to the community and the environment - if there is something ELSE terrorizing our turf, then we will step in to stop them with a hefty right punch and radiation breath - much like Godzilla. Thus, we are Godzilla and Godzilla is us.
2) Godzilla is on a BIKE. The bike represents our willingness to change the world through our actions. We are bike punk kids, dedicated to leading the rebellion against the four-wheeled imperialocracy, but we do it in a manner that Gandhi and MLK Jr would appreciate - by leading in non-violent but ever-present demonstration. Our sheer presence amounts to the difference we make in this world through our bikes and other actions.
3) It has an FM spoke card. The spoke card represents FM - the entire reason spoke cards exist is so people can show other people what they've done and where they've done it. We're telling everyone, 'Hey, we race in the race that is FasterMustache. It is ever-present, ever-ensuing, and nobody is not ever invited. We represent you - do you remember when you used to bike as a kid? We are your youth. We are varied, we are many walks of life, but we are consolidated in our beliefs. We invite you to join us, because it is never too late to recapture that part of you that believes.'
We can punctuate this point by HANDING out FM spoke cards FROM THE FLOAT to PEOPLE as we pass them by in the parade.

No, unless you want to pitch a really good argument for having multiple monsters, I feel that overcrowding the float with various Godzilla monsters will take away from the entire 'Godzilla on a bike'-tribute to biking feel and make it more a 'Haha Godzilla monsters'-tribute to old Godzilla movies feel. In other words, it will just DISTRACT by being overly loaded.

if a float is not feasible, we can consider decorating our bikes and wearing costumes, or creating large puppets or helium filled type things that we can anchor to bikes. i have a zine about puppetmaking, which is filed somewhere at madratz. also, i have been taking pictures of neat things i have seen around amsterdam that are built for hauling stuff .. like large amounts of beer for squat bars.
also, you may want to consider how the co-op might be a useful place to build such things.
