I'll be chanting at the Marriott:

"There's no place like Lenny's. There's no place like Lenny's."

OMG it worked! I had this horrible nightmare that I was playing to an empty room in Buckhead. And you were there, and you were there, and even you! Oh there's no place like Lenny's!

I was emo before it was

I was emo before it was called emo. And I'm proud of it. Back before it was popular, they called it "depresssed."

no man, depression doesn't

no man, depression doesn't make you go out and shop for pants in the girls section and dye your hair jet black and come it over one eye. depression doesn't drive you to seek out bold new breeds of shitty music.

depression teaches you how to pop the flame-retardant cap off high proof liquors before you have woken up enough to fully focus your eyes in the morning. emo teaches boys how to act like they need tampons. there's a difference.

"no man, depression doesn't make you go out and shop for pants in the girls section and dye your hair jet black and come it over one eye. depression doesn't drive you to seek out bold new breeds of shitty music."

I rest my case.

P.S. Anybody wanna wait in line with me all night for Police reunion tour tickets? I have no idea when they're coming here yet, but rest assured that I while be there, as close to the front as I can afford.

That's about what I figured.

That's about what I figured. I paid around $200 for Paul McCartney tickets. I hope they come here. If they don't it probably means I'll have to go to DC to see them with my parents. Blech.

Teh Black Hole's picture

Yeah...

Babble about rain forest conservation or saving the whales and you're guaranteed to get laid.

Dfunk's picture

I think I'd like the

I think I'd like the selection of possible sex partners better at a police-only show. I bet the ones that are close to my age and live in the city will be much cooler than treehuggers at bonnaroo. Not to mention, of course, the classy dame who will be accompanying me to the performance by Messr's Copeland, Summers and Sumner.

I, uh, uh, don't have a witty response. Give me a week.

that would be fun...

if i had $200 to spend.

for serious you should all listen to Annuals. they're from south(?) carolina and they're pretty rad.

The String Cheese Incident!

I thought they broke up! Man, they always have a great show. Spoon too. Ok, well, and everyone on this list.

babyguns's picture

mos def

they'll definately announce more bands, probably in 4 or 5 more announcements, 5-10 bands each time. and yes, the first year or two (yes I have been every time) was a totally hippie fest, but the past few haven't been so much. i am still waiting on the hip-hop to be announced. in the past I have seen the roots, jurassic 5, blackalicious, de la soul, common.....

and have no fear, the ammount of hipster bullshit is increasing as well.

p.s. there in NOTHING MORE HILARIOUS than a super sweaty hipster in the middle of a cornfield. they have no idea how to accomidate their hairdos in the heat. it's great.

Stupefying Jones's picture

i missed last year (went to

i missed last year (went to worldcup games in germany instead). but i heard that Radiohead pulled in a different crowd than years past. it may have started as a hippie fest, but i've been amazed at the breadth of music they pull in, from Sam Bush to Primus, DJ's and hip-hop to The Doors and The Dead. Where else could you see mix master mike follow up after James Brown?

i'm very tempted to go again this year....

fredo's picture

One word that trumps that.

Coachella!

I knew I shoulda bought those red sparkly shoes when I had the chance.

thank CHRIST

someone else has already said that so I don't have to. I go ever year, and every year it is equally awful and wonderful and I can't wait to go back.
edit: this comment didn't go where I thought it would.... I am referring to BONNAROO of course

I've got a kind of scary

I've got a kind of scary problem that just came up. I'm scheduled to work a double on Saturday.. for those of you who've worked in the restaurant industry you know that means I'll be first cut on the dinner shift, but I'm working on the patio and that shit tends to be busy later at night. I'm trying to get someone to pick up my shift, but do you guys think that there will be a point at which they'll stop letting people into this? I mean, we HAVE advertised the shit out of it. I probably won't be able to get out of work any earlier than 10. If I head straight there from Brookhaven, will I still be able to come in? I know there's no way of knowing this for sure but just maybe an estimate would be good.

kurt's picture

all i can say is:

get there as fast as you can.
