when i feel some rule/guideline etc. has been created with no chance for my imput and then i must deal with it. So this is why i kind of feel like a chump for complaining right now, not back in the day about the ten versus fifteen dollar thing for 24 hr registration, my team consists of 4 full time couriers, one student/barista, and one ship builder, all of us have girlfriends and one happens to have a wife and a child. Needless to say alot of us don't have alot of free time for tracking down on worknights people to pay early,i bet if i had thought about it i could have handed it to somebody at our sprints(and i bet there have been nights that weren't work nights for someone, or where i was even out and happened to bump into someone i could have payed). So maybe i'll chalk it up to me being an idiot/lazy but i'm gonna go ahead and call the deal a bit sour, because in my mind it is essentially a discount to people in you social circle/likely to bump into you. And sure i could ride to jonnys right now, but my girlfriend is on her way home now, and i'll take a shit on a fifty to hang out with her.

Paypal
If you read the registration page it gives you the info for sending in your fee via paypal. To save from clicking, here it is:
...but if you feel the need or are from out of town, feel free to use paypal to pay 24@fastermustache.org. If you use paypal, please add 50 cents to each person due to paypal fees.
don't have a paypal see post
don't have a paypal i somehow edited that out of my post

trying not to be an asshole because my roommate bet me I couldn't do it for a week
on second thought...
1) I recommended this site to a friend of mine the other day, and now I hope he doesn't check it out, because the pettiness of this thread is embarassing.
2) Now I'll be petty: About 5 months ago my girlfriend and I gave you money for a ride, tshirts and spoke cards. We didn't get any stuff, but we finished the ride and had a great time. I thought "oh well, its some regular guys trying to organize an event" and I got over it. No big deal, that's life.
I obvously made the wrong decision. Imagine all the attention I could have gotten if I'd whined about it on FM.
and...
there weren't enough manifests and the afterparty consisted of a keg with no tap and no cups... but it was still easily one of the most fun days i've ever had in my almost 10 years in the ATL. i'd ride it again today!
now lets seriously just get over ourselves and ride bikes!
sorry if the deadline missed
sorry if the deadline missed you. it was/is posted on the fm24 website as before the 31st so we're a day late with letting people in at $10. If the extra $5 is really a problem for you we can work something out but over 100 people have paid already. E-mail me if you want to discuss this offline ckdake at ckdake dot com.
edit: BTw I'm a full time student and working and bike commuting and just spent 3+ hours at johnny's taking registration info and $ from people.
why is there an increase in
why is there an increase in registration fee anyways, people are still registering before the race. and why is it such a big deal? some time you guys act like you haven't missed a date before. people do have lives.
What kind of a rhetorical question is this?
The answer is, of course, to encourage people to get their registration in early. That way, the money can be used to purchase prizes, etc. and can be counted on in the budgeting.
+1
>in my mind it is essentially a discount to people in you social circle/likely to bump into you
This is bullshit.
Its all about CASHFLOW and prizes, because some things have to be ordered, and some people have been very gracious about loaning the race hundreds of dollars.
I rode to Johnny's to pay for a guy in Conyers, and then called my teammates to come and pay.
We've gotten hundreds in free stuff, over an grand in fees, gas money for a band, and hundreds of bicycle stuff.
*** Irony ALERT ***
Lots of msg'ers bitched about prizes last year, so collecting money early is all about addressing that issue.
CK was very cool tonite and stayed late, so to be cool with him, you could make arrangements to pay for your team in one shot. Lots of folks did that tonite.

["Lots of msg'ers bitched about prizes last year, so collecting money early is all about addressing that issue."]
That's bullshit! Collecting money early is not going to fix the "issue" that caused the first place team to get a sub par first place prize.
Sorry, but that moment when the prizes were handed out last year was a low point in the race. I do agree that bitching about having register for the race is pretty weak. If you want to race, then just bite the bullet and go pay. It's only going to cost you an hour or two. I'm sure that the gf would understand as you only have to do it once.
Well, ideally, the logic is
Well, ideally, the logic is that with money already invested into the race, more awesome prizes can be returned this year (because they can order them ahead of time and have them on-site on the day of the race. If all you had last year was 200$ to split between prizes ahead of time, it sort of limits what you can do in preparing prizes). If your point is that it obviously won't fix the problem last year, that's right, but the people there already apologized and are trying to do better this year.
But +1 on the rest of your post.
I just mean that first place
I just mean that first place last year should have gotten an ipod and not a grill.
prizes last year could have
prizes last year could have been better.
prizes this year will be awesome. end of discussion. (until people get prizes saturday)
I for one will apologize to
I for one will apologize to everyone that was offended at anypoint in time previous to the current point in time for actions that were dealt by any individuals.
I can't believe this thread is still going.
?!?
an iPod with what money? the truth of it is that a lot of people paid money for some of the prizes out of their pockets. it's kinda crazy to complain about the first place prize on the first ever faster mustache, first annual 24 hour race. if you are racing for prizes, chances are you don't want to race in an FM sponsored race.
+1
Bingo.
Here's the deal, last year's race is history, either move on, or get help, seriously, its way over.
This year's deal is awesome, much better.
But in the oft chance somebody is not satisfied, just look in the mirror. Anybody at anytime could've played a role in organizing this deal.
PS. Your entry fee does NOT include a T-Shirt, just so more money can be spent on prizes. So bring T-Shirt money if you want one.
PPS. I showed up 5 mins before the start of last year's race, didn't know a soul (I was the weak link on Skip's team) and still had a goodtime.
So everybody relax and enjoy yourselves.
+1 this is an exponential
+1 this is an exponential learning curve. even though last year is in the past, the fact that it happened at all is the real merit. we've learned from it and are taking another exponential step. The route checkpoints have been simplified, the location was set early, the past 2 weeks have been devoted to prizes. I think from talking to people, we got this shit on lockdown.
now its time to worry about winning those prizes! ride or die!
hmmmmm........ . . Clearly
hmmmmm........ . . Clearly every one who raced last year rode because they enjoy riding. But, I say there's nothing wrong with racing for prizes. I mean, it is a race. Race=Competition. Why have prizes at all if this is not a competition. Not everyone is out to try to win the race and that is what makes the 24h awesome. But you cannot deny the competetive aspect of this race. I'm letting this go! I'm not trying to put down FM. The fact that the stache was able to effectively pull this off last year is awesome. Whatever bickering happens about prizes or registration or whatever will not damper the fun factor of this event.
+1
If it is fun, do it. If it is not, do something else.
JP is a fucking philosopher.
"...with what money"
i'd also like to throw out there that if ANYONE was unsatisfied with ANY of the prizes that I PERSONALLY donated last year, i will be glad to take them back and replace them with an official 'unofficial FM24markI trophy belt' (white, buckle on the side, i'll even imprint the winners' name and what category they won on the leather...)
ok so the prize was a bike
ok so the prize was a bike trailer (which only works for one bike owned by the team members) with a grill on it (apparently veggies don't grill). i can't imagine what the bitch session would have been like if ONE ipod was tossed out to the winning team.
anyone want to go in with me on a copy of Radioactive Man #1 ?
Actually
Getting registration money early was specifically discussed in the prizes meeting as a way get funds for better prizes. It is not that unusual to get people whoi register early a break in the price of most events. It helps with the planning, but that should be pretty obvious.
And again, if people are looking for real prizes and they think they are competitive on a bike, maybe a squid race is ore up to their taste, unless, of course, they are not fast enough in a road to be competitive in those.
I am even thinking that if there were only small, gag prizes, with the money being given to charity or even invested in infrastructure for next year, the vast majority of registrants would still have entered the race.
or maybe gag prizes and
or maybe gag prizes and trophy belts (see above) and charitable donations.
+1 to trophy belts
+1 to trophy belts

The reason we wanted people to register early is so Johnny's will know what kind of crowd to expect for the race.
1. People should have know
1. People should have know about this for a while.
2. $10 (and $15) is _crazy crazy_ cheap for a 24 hour race! Most 24 hour races are orders of magnitude more expensive!
3. $5 more isn't bad at all. I spend over $15 tonight on pizza/beer sitting at Johnny's waiting for people to stop by and drop off their entry fees!
4. The venue needs estimations of people showing up so that they can be prepared for us(ordering kegs and tasty food!). I personally gave this estimate to the owner of Johnny's tonight.
5. We need estimations of people showing up (and cash) to get suitable prizes! The prizes this year are going to be crazy awesome.
6. We don't want a box with ~$2k cash in it sitting around at the race on Saturday.
7. Most people got me their money before Johnny's tonight. It's not too late to send me paypal tonight and if I get cash from you when you show up to give it to me sometime tomorrow in a manner that doesn't make me screw up my schedule, I'm not gonna be a dick about it if it's only $10 a person.
Incentive to Register Early...
Getting the registration money early allowed Kurt & Co. enough time to go out and buy prizes. Giving the early, discounted registration rate up until four days before the event is more than pretty damn generous; it's a bit insane.
"people do have lives."
sometimes people have to meet deadlines. it's an unjust world for flakes.
btw
i don't require a response, i should have prefaced my comment.
goddamnit, jacquelyn
just shut the fuck up!
oh, and this is from a guy who missed the deadline as well.
Do you ever do anything
Do you ever post here for any purpose other than trying to stir up petty "my bike club is better than your bike club" drama? Seriously. I should try this out next time I miss a deadline at school or at work. "Sorry I didn't finish my program on time, I have a life. I don't require a response, so don't bother telling me how little sense my statement makes. also I have enough time to make lengthy posts on the internet about how little time I have."
dude, seriously, to be
dude, seriously, to be fair... it is sort of arbitrary how the entire financial system is set up so that tasks involving more labor or shorter timelines should cost more. i mean, why the shit should it cost me more to have my package shipped from california same day than it does if i just tell them to put it up whenever they get a chance because i'm in no real rush and really don't need it for another month or so? see, just saying it helps you understand how bullshit it is. i'm sure we could all agree to take the same earnings regardless of the amount of work we have to do or how fast we are required to do it... right Skip? back me up on this one.
i would light
the entire capitalist system on fire if it was up to me but i've already stirred up enough drama before on that topic, but oh yeah if everyone agreed to take a pay cut for me to get a raise and be able to slow down on the daily i'd be down
Correct Me If I'm Wrong, But...
Hasn't the registration page been up for four weeks or so? More than enough time to arrange payment...
Go with your original "lazy/idiot" explanation.
the earth has been scheduled for
demolishment the apropriate documents have been on file in the nearest large star system for the apropriate lengths of time as required by galactic law......, i'm clearly not lazy but my inteligence is always up for you to review. calling it a discounted registration is obfuscation, that would imply that more than ten dollars per person was being put into the race by organizers and that fifteen was what they really should have been charging all along
obviously if my team saving the five bucks was top priority we would have done something about it in the four weeks that it has been up, i understand the incentive issuesit just feels a bit like a ticketmaster fee,if 1080 bucks isn't enough to get the prizes purchased, and an extra 33 percent is the loaners fee than if i want to get in the race than i'll have to pay it,
i just made a payment via
i just made a payment via paypal for you. i'll be on a giant decatur yellow bike with a milk crate on the back. I'd appreciate if you pay me back.
+1
nice!
oh shit
that is awesome
ticketmaster, no way dude
ticketmaster is bs man. that's the "convenience" charge and charge for printing your own ticket and all. this is different. early bird specials have been around a long time. maybe you've gone to a show maybe where it's $10 advance, $15 at the door. same thing dude.
incentive
have you never been apart of a race before? i have been participating in road races since i was a freshman in high school and have always preregistered because it's cheaper. there is a road race the morning of the 24 hour race that had a deadline last wed if you wanted to pay less and their system was a lot more confusing than hunting down chris kelly or creating a pay pal account. We all have busy lives and that is why the paypal was set up, for our convenience.
further more, chris kelly and the rest of the people putting this race together deserve the 5 extra dollars you pay for signing up late. they are rearranging their BUSY lives to make this an awesome, exciting, super crazy race. so, thank you chris kelly ect. for making it pretty easy for me to show up on saturday with my bike, my friends, and my beer. you guys really did it (again).
Only if the door is convenient
I agree that Ticketmaster is BS. That is why I go to the venue if possible to purchase my ticket. THIS IS DIFFERENT! The "DOOR" at show venues stays in the same location at all times. Plus it is open during times that are clearly posted. I agree that Kurt ( I think ) has posted his where abouts. I still think that he should have worked with one of the bike shops that he has for a sponsor. They could have acted as a registration dropoff.
I would like to now address something else that has been brought up.
*** Irony ALERT ***
Lots of msg'ers bitched about prizes last year, so collecting money early is all about addressing that issue.
I saw this and was rather pissed. First of all, last year one of YOUR guys, again I am not sure, I think his name is Roger. He works in the Peachtree Center buildings. Last year he was pretty much asking us and begging( if you ask me ) to come out for the race. We were reluctant about it, but we finally decided to do it. The one question that I personally kept asking him was, "What are the prizes?" and " Are there enough for each member on the team?" I kept getting very vague answers. When all was said and done the messenger team won. When the prizes came, we were disappointed. We recieved the following: 1- $50 gift certificate to 97 estoria. I personally ended up putting 20 bucks toward our tab when we used it. We had 6 members from the team and some of us brought dates. We also got a USED BOB trailer with a grill mounted to it. I will agree that the trailer and grill is a nice prize. The problem with it is this. I am the only person on the team that owns a bike that is able to mount the trailer to. The other problem, I was the only person that EATS meat. We had also been told that the grill was full of t-shirts, tubes, and patch kits. I had been called and asked to check. NOTHING. On top of this, I find it amusing that I have seen the same person that wanted us last year on several occasions, yet no mention of it. Do you really want us to race? Are you afraid? Are you upset that we win the BS alleycats that you put on. If you think about it if it wasn't for the MESSENGERS you wouldn't even know what an alleycat was.
I personally am looking at the FM site and seeing what the prizes are going to be. I would like to justify me paying my entry fee and wasting my legs, considering I have to work on Friday and Monday. Last year we were told that they (the promoters) didn't think that the competition would be this tense. If that was the case then, why did you have the GT cycling team show up. I also find the fact that we won, even though we had the least amount of sub 40 minute laps. I was unable to locate the post. We have been accused of cheating last year. We did not cut the course even though we knew a faster route and had the chance. There were other teams that did. These are just some of the thoughts that are on my mind. Also, why are we not able to see the full prize list? How are you planning to pay for the bands? Also wher do you plan on letting the racers sleep, considering that you have bands playing?
We didn't do so hot on the
We didn't do so hot on the prizes last year. We know that. People that won got more out of it than their registration fees, but yeah, the prizes could have been a lot better.
We didn't "have the GT cycling team show up." They wanted to race so they did, nobody isn't invited so we won't say no to a group of people just because they race together often, and last time I checked the mesengers beat them. I have heard no accusations of cheating last year, I don't think there was much if any, and people have probably heard me saying "If some guys that we don't really know end up beating the messengers then we need to be concerned that those some guys might be cheating." (Issues with knowing faster route -> this year the route is "suggested" and you just have to hit all the checkpoints)
The full prize list isn't up for a few reasons: We are still getting prizes and figuring things out. Some things are going to come through at the last minute and some things aren't. I don't think it would be stretching it to say that there easily could be over $2000 in prizes. (Which is more than the total amount of $$ we are expecting to receive from registration!) Enough of it was donated that we can pay the bands what they are asking for. The bands will be playing from around 7:45 to around 11:45. I don't know the details but I'm pretty sure they're going to be outside and Johnny's is opening up an extra room inside to be a sleeping room. If it's too too loud, thats 4 hours that people won't be able to sleep.
Look, we understand that
Look, we understand that what we do for fun, you do for a living. I have no doubt it's a very tough job, but I feel like it gets brought up all the time as if it should automatically bestow some special condition/treatment, like being exempt from the payment deadline that's been posted for a month, or not gracing us with your presence unless some super sweet prizes are available, etc.
We have jobs/school/girlfriends/wives/kids too, it's not like messengers have a monopoly on having all their free time taken up by work/school/family, but it really doesn't take that much time and effort to email ckdake and set up an in-person meeting to hand off the money. Also, there's the whole paypal option.
I know as well as anybody that sometimes shit comes up and things that are supposed to get done never end up happening, but usually it ends up being my fault for not taking care of it sooner.
Ugh.
Can we have a moment please? No one in FM is out to get anyone else and no one is making rules or deadlines to hurt others. Geeze, lets just fucking bike.
Im out to get someone
I'm out to get Skip! Haha, just kidding. I'm sure since Skip put on such an awesome race last saturday we can sympathiZe and work something out for his team. But seriously we need to get the $$ soon, I'm out about $500 on this race and need the cash. So call me or Chris Kelly and lets figure it out! four oh four four three four seventy five hundred
i'll have you know, 12
i'll have you know, 12 people just posted the exact same thing. 12, well, 1 great reason to not race.
Consensus?
Yay! Let's hear it for large groups unified by a bad reason!
ummmmmmmmm, ok.
It seems to me that Chris Kelly has been very accomodating & generous about stretching the deadline, which is unusual for an event with this many people. Logistics can be difficult, and everyone here is just trying to put on a good time with good prizes, and make the event the best it can be.
We'd love to have you all, but if the fact that we're trying to be organized and professional is a turn off, then have a good weekend doing whatever you're doing.
For someone who does not whine...
There certainly seems to be a lot of it.
As with everything in life, the race is what it is. People put a lot of effort into organizing it, and made the planing and the event as open as it could be. Anyone could have made suggestions before things were set up, but complaining at the last minute is not very helpful.
If 15 dollars at this point is too much, you don't have to race. If the prizes are not up to your standards, you don't have to race. If it interferes with your work, you don't have to race. If you are too busy this year, there will be another race next year. Everyone has commitments and priorities and standards. Some like alleycats, some like criteriums, some race at the track, some think that the FM.24 it. There are plenty of races for everyone to grace with their presence (including the GT guys, people from Florida that may be fast as all get out, and teams that are slow but think that it will be fun). No event will please everyone, even if it is open to all.
If people posting the same thing is a great reason not to race, listen to your heart and don't do something that will upset, displease or otherwise piss you off. If it does not seem worth the effort or the money, save both for a worthwhile cause. People get invited to worthless crap all the time, and it is really ok to decline.
If 10 bucks sees like a decent price for the race, come race. If it is worth an extra 5 for the convenience of not taking time out of one's obviously very busy life, or for deciding whether to race on the day of, then come race. If the race would be a waste of time, effort, money or anything else, maybe next year will be better, and there will be plenty others that other people put up that are to your taste.
freedom of choice?
followed by taking responsibility for my own decisions?
Nooooooooooooooooo!
when making your decision - be honest.
this is a 24HR party on two wheels. if you decide not to ride that is your personal decision and should not be used to create negative energy surrounding the event. it can't be the money ($15 is cheap - 66Sick=$12, JPBenefit=$15 - both = good times) or the registration process (posted for ~month and over 100 people made it happen) or the prizes (~$2000 worth). if you want to play, you'll find a way to play. two of my teammates have to work for half of the duration of the actual race - they're riding. i know a guy who has a cross race in north GA Sunday morning - he's riding. if you don't want to spend your legs, that is your call. just don't blame the folks who have bent over backwards and spent a great deal of their busy schedules putting this thing together.
no one purposely is attempting to excluded anyone! i refuse to believe that anyone actually believes that. a guy on a yellow bike paid skip's (a messenger's) registration fee - stupefying jones, you're awesome and deserve a high five.
this weekend we're all going to be at Johnny's and we're going to ride bikes and we're going to be exhillerated and exhausted and most of us are going to laugh and have a good time. if you don't show up, have a nice relaxing weekend. i'll miss you. this is another opportunity for all the folks who like to ride bikes (fixed, yellow, geared,...) to come out and enjoy each other's company. lets keep it positive.
If you are racing just to get prizes
I suggest you don't race. This one isn't for you. Same goes for the sleeping thing.
To put it into perspective
I think a lot of people, with the messengers maybe fielding a team and GT fielding teams, don't really expect to win the prizes, but are more in it to have fun (which is not to discredit the competitive teams in this thing). To be completely honest, 10$ for a 24-hr event to hang out with your friends is an AMAZING deal (even at 15$). You could pay 10$ for a movie ticket for 2-hours and not talk to your friends, or you could pay 10$ for a 24-hr event in which you'll laugh with your friends, argue with your friends, hate your friends, make up with your friends by getting drunk together, that is totally what I am in it for, not the prizes. I actually know a team, put together at the last minute, which consists of two people, who just started biking not long ago, and who are hoping to meet the one-lap minimum (and anything beyond that is a personal accomplishment for themselves), are coming just because it'll be just honest to goodness fun (and if anything, basically feeding 10$ each into the prizes for the competitive teams).
But they're still going to have a blast.
x 100
x 100 I'm uber pumped about this weekend!
+1
I don't expect us to win anything, but I expect to have a rocking good time hanging out with team Nuclear Rocket Punch & my other biking friends.
psst. We are actually TEAM
psst. We are actually TEAM NUCLEAR ROCKET PUNCH. The team in that must be capitalized. The phrase, Team Nuclear Rocket Punch is also acceptable. The team doesn't actually signify we're a team, inasmuch as it is part of our name and cannot be adjusted to a lower-capitalization. So theoretically, we could be team Team Nuclear Rocket Punch, but that'd just be anal. ;)
What...
Do you have a nuclear rocket up you butt?
do not want

I love how fired up and
I love how fired up and emotionally invested everyone is about this race. It show how much people really care about the 24h. This is going to be a good one. RAGE ON!
Skip and Ritebike are gonna
Skip and Ritebike are gonna come home and find this pile of crap waiting in their computer screens. God damn.
yup

Yeah geez
I mean come on FM, lets not jump down throats.
Throat Jumping
"I'd already repelled a great distance before realizing I hadn't jumped down the man's throat at all, rather his anus. To be fair, my confusion stemmed from a bad, yet understandable, assumption: I'd jumped through the end he'd been talking out of."
-excerpted from Down and Out: My Adventure in Throat Jumping by Jase
"So I'm repelling down Mount
"So I'm repelling down Mount Vesuvius when suddenly I slip, and I start to fall. Just falling, ahh, ahh. I'll never forget the terror. When suddenly I realize, "Holy shit, Hansel, haven't you been smoking peyote for six straight days and couldn't some of this maybe be in your mind?"
Awesome!
YES!
man everyone is so passionate.
now use all that energy to kick ass in the race!
totally turn it into something posi
this makes me actually want to sign up and race now.
ahh i feel something coming out
my anus or is it my mouth
anyways
at what point in any of my posts in this thread have i
1. criticized the job people were doing?(the policy yes, and people act like i'd pissed on the pope)
2. said or implied that i felt 15 dollars was an unfair price if it was the base price in which everyone pays
3. ask for someone to treat me special because i'm a messenger/said or implied i'm better because of my messengerdom
4. said or implied i'm bussier than anyone and that this rule was meant to target me
5. mentioned my bike club
6. said or implied that the rule was created to target me
7. said or implied i worked harder or had it harder or was more tired had less free time etc.
8. asked for exemption from the ten fifteen split
69. d ur mom ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
or maybe i missed it because i'm an idiot(and a flake winer attention grabber) which could be a good theory because someone who must owe their roommate some money three feet up this motherfucker seems to agree with me
i repeat i think that this ten fifteen split is in any practical purposes more likely to apply positively to people in your social circle not the guerciotti(see his newcomer at last years post) of this year, nor me even though many nice people have been trying to bend the rules for me and of course i'd be lying if that poor team of single mothers with no time to preregister was my driving influence when i wrote this but i know i am not the only person out there that isn't immersed or even dipping their toes into this one who is likely to enter, and people don't need to but likely can reiterate all the positive aspects of the ten fifteen
i didn't go up to johnnys out of my own choice if your deadline is reasonable stick to it and don't give me a discount, but at the very least why is a controversial enough of a question around here to ask that people are getting pissed then the rule is either right on or right off. dude up there is hillariously awesome for paying for me, but we'll see how fired up ritebike is and if he or the rest of the team would pay anything after the and i have just added to it i'll give it a metric meters worth of poetry on this one, but don't worry dude i'll pay you fifteen back on that ten if my team is a noshow
Well put Skip. I'll see you
Well put Skip. I'll see you on Saturday, putting Kurt in his place... and forcing my team back to 6th place.
(Excuse the expression but)
(Excuse the expression but) your comment was just the flapping of the wings of a butterfly somewhere that set off the chain reaction of rideculousness that is this thread. I read your comment as a "man. it'd be sweet if i'd been on the ball and paid early" and I don't think any here is actually accusing you of the 8 things you listed, it's people arguing online which is just stupid. (hell, my first response on this thread was after 3 hours of drinking at Johnny's!). Just your comment followed by Jacquelyn's comment was enough to get people all riled up. The race costs money, the organizers budgeted somehow (I wasn't really a part of that part of things), and voila. We have pre-registration (and a race!!!). Lots of people paid early, hopefully lots of people will pay Saturday. I look forward to seeing everyone there! RIDE BIKES HAVE FUN!
now everyone just shaddup and drop this! please!
i'm lucky
my roommate doesn't read fm
I vote we ask CK to just kill the thread
It does no good.
Are People Really Getting Worked Up Over This?
I thought we were just fucking around. The title of the thread alone seems to say "don't take this seriously."
i don't see how my comment
i don't see how my comment riled any one up, you guys do it to your self. and, well put skip, most agreed. seems you guys don't know skip or myself very well. you guys should spin your wheels on the road more instead of this blog. try not to read too hard between the lines on this one.
Which is better?
Wasting time reading your comments? or wasting time writing your comments?
;)
Around here, between the lines is where the sarcasm & humor is. Reading your post straight is what's more likely to get people riled up.
Come on, knock it off,
Come on, knock it off, cody.
Jacquelyn,
I take your advice often, and I got rained on pretty good earlier tonite, but I must say it was sweet rain, and not cold at all. I love it when you're drenched and walk into some place, and the people just part like the red sea, and then they look at you like you're wet, that must be awful, and then I shot'm that John Belushi kinda smile, yeah that really confuses them because they start to question themselves, etc.
Bicycles are what turn cites into Disney World for Adults. Think about it, there's lots of E-Ticket rides in atlanta.
About this and other long threads on this board, frankly they don't bother me in the least. I may have a thicker skin than most, but I think these threads are great, just let it rip, and then move on. Cathartic, is the word I'm looking for here.
Btw, true be told this site is really tame compared to the "emacs vs. vi" sorta crappola on the internet.
"Bicycles are what turn cites into Disney World for adults."
