Another Atlanta FM?

Visiting friends in San Francisco when one of them shows up in this t-shirt. Apparently he was in a band in Atlanta called Faster Mustache ~'99-'00. Small world...?

Today reminds me of summertime in SF.

ok

i'll ask around... kinda thought i just did.

i guess it may have been more like 2002-2003ish? he moved out west about then. not sure he was aware the name had been revitalized.

I think I saw a similar post

I think I saw a similar post before.. if I recall correctly, the name comes from the graffiti found on a side of a building somewhere. Being an extremely cool phrase, it was appropriated by a band as well as by the most lethal underground bicycling organization in history.

I think there's a picture of it somewhere if you don't mind rummaging through the gallery.

Faster Mustache the band

Christopher once got an e-mail from this band asking about our bike club's name. Somehow, the graffiti that inspired our name has been linked to this now-defunkt ATL band.

skiptown's picture

yeah the graffiti

was written by a brother of one of the band members in homage to the band

X-topher's picture

correct

you win 10 points! The band guy promised to send me some music and merch but never did. bummer.

Suggestion...

This information should just be put on the "about" page or a "history" page so as to avoid further explanation.

ckdake's picture

yeah. the about page needed

yeah. the about page needed a refresher. it's better now. feedback welcome.

X-topher's picture

awesome, chris

nice job. The people who ride with us have far too many websites.

Alex's picture

And none of them are

And none of them are porn

bummer

hembree's picture

maybe

separate real websites from myspace pages?

ckdake's picture

write some code to do so and

write some code to do so and I'll do it. those are pulled right out of the profile database.

hembree's picture

hrm

while(whatever it is you do to query the profile database) {
$url = /* their website url */;
if(ereg("^http://www.myspace.com",$url,$regs) == false) {
echo "" /* however you want to print the link */
}
}

while(whatever it is you do to query the profile database) {
$url = /* their website url */;
if(ereg("^http://www.myspace.com",$url,$regs)) {
echo "" /* however you want to print the link */
}
}

or something like that

ckdake's picture

psuedo code :) I guess I

psuedo code :) I guess I was hoping thered be no response to my little request for code there. The real issue to me is should LJ sites also be excluded? Peoples personal websites that are just blogs? How's this fit together with nobody's not invited/there is no core group/etc?

Alex's picture

How about

Listing just allies, and leaving all else for the introductions or personal profiles? I don't think a first time visitor to the site would be missing much about FM if they cannot go to someone's MySpace page, their blog, or their Bondage Personals profile.

ckdake's picture

probably makes sense. any

probably makes sense. any other +/- 1s before I remove em?

Alex's picture

+1

:)

Dfunk's picture

I say if there's no easy way

I say if there's no easy way to divide and/or categorize the site lists, it makes sense just to limit it to the allies. So in short, +1.

Enough +1s for me. updated.
