FM.24.06 - Complete PA needed

kurt's picture

For the musical performance we need a PA, Monitors, and a Mixer. It looks very likely that Arizona (www.myspace.com/arizonatheband) will be playing and they have 5 members. They are really awesome by the way so go check out their page. Does anyonehave any ideas about this PA thing?

I AM SOOO EXCITED!

about arizona.......everyone check them out.....

seriously guys

Arizona are awesome. some of you might remember my birthday party, co-hosted with the venerable dj al b. hard. Arizona was the band that was sadly forced to cut their set a little short. these are all old friends of mine, and they rock.

a buddy of mine used to play

a buddy of mine used to play guitar for them! i don't know if he quit or got kicked out, but he doesn't anymore.

*EDIT* ummmm, actually my friend used to play for Nevada, not Arizona. Doh!

I have small PA

I've got a smaller PA in my room right now. I don't know anything about it, i just used to play in a band and bought it. So if the room isn't too big i could lend it to you. I think it is a six channel maybe two 10" monitors and a powered mixer. Well anyway just hit me up if that sounds right

This might be good for

This might be good for monitoring. We can run it as a slave off the main P.A, whatever that ends up being.

Jacquelyn's picture

yeah i have a PA, but i

yeah i have a PA, but i don't really know the band and supporting five, that would push it. also, if i blow a horn or something, no love. yeah, i thought dfunk had one?

Dfunk's picture

Yeah, but...

I dunno how I feel about having my P.A. around when I'll be off riding laps instead of protecting my gear from drunken bike kids (who I love, don't get me wrong. But we know that accidents happen.) and musicians I mostly don't know who'll likely want to crank my stuff to 11 and damage it. Plus I don't have speaker stands, making my gear even more vulnerable. And my mixer has no EQ because it's really an audio interface. I have no microphones and no mic stands and no monitors.

So in short, unless somebody's willing to sign something taking full responsibility for my stuff, (including agreeing to repair and/or replace anything that gets damaged...) it will not be availible.

That being said, I happen to know an audio engineer who I trust, who has most of the missing pieces to fill in the holes left by my gear, who I'd trust to babysit it, who might suddenly be free to run sound. He may demand some small compensation though. I'll get back to y'all.

understandable

I totally understand if you don't want to risk it. On the other hand, it will only be set up for a few hours (not the full race) while the bands set up, play, take down. On another note, if we acquire the equipment elsewhere, would you be willing to help set up?

Also, yeah, look into your friend coming along and helping. Free beer for him!

hmmm

the lasch *might* be able to rig something up. I'll speak to the appropriate parties when they get back from disney world

X-topher's picture

excellent

This will be like the time i said the lasch was playing our party and you didn't even know it yet. Hardy Har. Do you guys want to play the race?!?

that'd be sweet

roger and I have communicated via email already. hopefully it works out

I have a PA

Hey guys-
This is Mike Hamilton of GT Cycling and sometimes of Skate Escape fame. I have an EV Eliminator system that I would possibly be willing to volunteer. 1600W power amp, 2 400W mains matched to two 400W subs. I have maybe 3 mike stands and at least three mics but maybe up to 6. The mixer is 16 channels good quality but I do not have any monitors. I would possibly need someone with a truck and a person to help me load it up.

The PA is for sale for a super deal since I got it for pro-deal 6 years ago. I wanted to throw that out there just in case FM or anyone wants a PA for future events (for the option of hosting private events just about anywhere with electricity). Here it is: http://namm.harmony-central.com/SNAMM00/Content/Electro-Voice/PR/elimina...

As for the liability, any severe damage to my stuff would be covered by the responsible party. I played in bands for a few years and know that stuff gets worn out but a beer in mixer board is not cool. I will most likely be around for most of the show including setup and takedown, but I would need somebody to take responsibility to watch the board and such if I was gone.

That's way more powerful

That's way more powerful than my gear. I say with go with it.

chad's picture

what kind of mixer, how much

what kind of mixer, how much are you asking for the system? boxes, amp(s), mixer and cables?

mikethebike's picture

It is a Phonic MR2443 16

It is a Phonic MR2443 16 channel, 4 bus, stereo mixer, w/ phantom power for studio mics. I would need to do a complete inventory of what I have for sale before moving forward and giving an exact price. Probably around $2000. Call me at 404 218 8321 if you want to discuss.
