I was looking at the FM24 race website from last year and noticed it doesnt really say 2005. That means we are doing it again this year and though it's a little early for details, some discussion about what weekend to do it on is probably appropriate. Go!

Ready, set...
I think what we need right now is a splash page at that address that says: "2006 2nd Anual 24 Hour Urban Relay: New site coming soon, so stay posted!" should be posted until we get some new info up. That way we don't confuse anyone and so people will know the race is coming.
Side Note: Anton (97 Estoria) is in Africa for a month so we won't be able to contact him for anything regarding the race until he is back. That should be fine.
At this point I think we need to meet to discuss last year (how can you hope to change the future if you don't understand the past) and talk about what went right, what went wrong, and what didn't went.
got er did.
got er did.
I ask and I receive
Nice work Chris. Can I be picky and ask that "Atlanta's road bicycle community" be changed to "Atlanta's broad bicycle community" to match our "About" page description? Then I will be done asking for things, I swear.
yeah. thats definitely
yeah. thats definitely another got er did.

OK go here EVERYONE!
workin w/ sopo
let me know if you want us to participate and how. we make contract, then: everyone = happy.
Contracts
contracting with Faster Mustache is like contracting with Chuck Norris. There would be no recourse for you except that your head would be kicked.
All kidding aside, I think this time we will determine, ahead of time, everyone's specific committments and promotional needs. Obviously, any participation at all is optional. Sopo's name is still on the site for now but nothing has been decided yet.
Absolutely all kidding aside, I would never sign a contract with Faster Mustache.
Not so much a contract
Not so much a contract really. Just, when we decide ahead of time what everybody's commitments and stuff are, let's put it in writing to avoid confusion. Since I want to be involved and help with the race planning and want to attend the meetings for that anyway, I think I'm gonna handle the sopo coordination too. Sopo chain ring + fm cog = unbeatable drive train of bike awesomeness.
One chainring to rule them all.
Dfunk, isn't a single chainring and a single cog the telltale sign of a SS/Fixie? Are you coming over to the dark side??!?!?
Sorry, that's sopo chain
Sorry, that's sopo chain ringS and fm cassette. :-P
Actually, the telltale sign of a SS/Fixie is a 30-year-old hipster who has to walk with a cane because he fucked up his knees.
Just you wait, when the trend swings back around and gears become the in thing again, I'll be way ahead of the curve.
don't do it
ckdake did just that for some guy a few weeks ago and that very same night - BAM!
pot hole.
Deja Vu
I have no idea what you're talking about. Please clarify.
:(
v1ct0r was referring to himself in that post
I'm still confused
What should I not do which ckdake did the night of the infamous pothole incident?
uhhhh
i thought i read something about you removing your front derailer, etc in that post.
i guess i'm seeing things.
My mother refers to chiropractors as 'witch-doctors'
Many people may not know this, but I got a good ole hyper-extended knee when I was 15 years old in a football incident (one reason why I never went pro :). My knees have cruched like a 10yo chewing poprocks ever since... before I started riding, they hurt ALL THE TIME... now, a few pedal injections is all that is needed to make my knees stop hurting and to start sounding better... maybe the exercise, may be placebo, but fixies (well biking, but who's counting) let me walk again...

i've actually been working
i've actually been working on just this thing. i put a couple of cogs in the back and a few chainrings on the front of my bike. but with key tooth differences so that i can move the chain from one combination to another without affecting chain length or chainline. all i have to do is get off at key points in the trail, loosen the rear wheel, and lift the chain to a new set of gears. it's still a single speed because i can only be in one gear at a time, i just have three of them now.
now if only i could come up with some form of mechanical device that would accomplish this task of skewing my chain position for me. maybe with some form of remote actuation, possibly by means of a large stick mounted somewhere under the seat or something. oh man, i think i'm on to something big here guys!!! my name is gonna be all over bike parts in the next couple of years! but what to call my new invention?
something french sounding.

oooh. I like it. but that
oooh. I like it. but that whole weekday thing could be a bitch. then again. that is why you have teams, right?
3 or 4 days
before or after the equinox you wouldn't be able to notice the miniscule bias towards light/dark

saturday it is...
this one is on the sat. i mean, i guess trackracers could do laps later if one wanted to be really hardcore. it's hard to not conflict with at least one event!
she's right
Festival of Speed
so is our relay adding to or
so is our relay adding to or detracting from a "festival of speed"? maybe the people who come into town to race at the velo will wanna do our event first (but i doubt it)
conflict for only me?
events for the festival of speed will probably start ~1 pm (non-pros) with pro races not ending till 9 pm. personally i'll be pretty tired then and not able to do both. i'm not sure how many FMers will compete in/spectate at the track event, but it may be something to consider...
shit i'll stay awake to
shit i'll stay awake to spectate. sparks, pbr, hot chocolate induced level of awakeness!
That's also Sharon's
That's also Sharon's birthday weekend.
Christopher, can we have a meeting about this after
the ride on Wed, 9ish, your place, we'll bring beverages. I want this race to happen before Daniel leaves for France.
Danjo
Wednesday is track racing so we can meet after that finishes (10?). Is Daniel going to be back by September 23rd?
If Roger will let us into your place,
the beverages will be there by the time trackracers arrive.

since this is the 2nd annual 24hr race, why not make it a 48hr race?
race
ive been talking about this race a lot too. jsut not with you guys just because i havent fully emerged from my cocoon. i finished my last final about 1 hour ago. i am so completely done now.
anyways. i leave for paris early september. we need to ahve a race before then. if we decide that the 24 hour race needs to happen after i leave, thats fine... i was thinking about a 12 hour race or at least a new format for the race. to be discussed.
meeting on wednesday soudns awesome.
