Faster Mustache

Faster Mustache is a progressive organization made up of a diverse group of Atlanta residents with one thing in common: riding bicycles. We believe in the power of cyclists to change our communities and our world through ongoing discussion, entertaining events, and positive action. Online and on the road, at work or at play, we challenge everyone to use a bike. It doesn't matter what type: fixed, free, geared, single, cruiser, chopper, racer, or clunker. No two bikes are the same and certainly no two riders are the same, but in the auto-centric city of Atlanta, we have fun sticking together. Simply put, we invite everyone to bike everywhere with us. Welcome to Faster Mustache!

Critical Mass May 2009

Here's the drill. It's the last Friday of the month, the weather is great this time of year, not to hot, not to cool. We have been getting a lot of rain, so everything is beautiful and clean. Come out on some wheels, a bike, two bikes, skates, skateboard, grocery cart, wheel chair. It really doesn't matter, just come out and ride around the city with friends new and old, see parts of the city you may not have seen and share with community.

We meet at Woodruff Park at the corner of Peachtree St and Auburn Ave NE Atlanta, Ga at 6pm and leave after everyone shows up. Come on out.

Time:
05/29/2009 - 6:00pm - 8:30pm
Location:

Race Report: Dirt, Sweat, and Gears 2009

The following is a glossary of terms used in the DSG 09 Race Report:
1.glud \ˈgləd\ Mud with a sticky, slippery, clay-like consistency. Globs onto everything and weighs stuff down. Glues itself to your body and your bike. Very slippery and squishy to ride over.
2. crud \ˈcrəd\ Mud similar to glud, but slightly dryer and more prone to packing up on your tires. Usually contains grass which it cleverly deploys into your derailleur. Somehow even heavier than glud.
3. gloop \ˈglüp\ Mud that is runny and wet, like diarrhea. Lighter in color than glud or crud, gloop is light enough to fly in the air and coat your face.

Ride MARTA Day

It's really simple - we ride MARTA on Friday. www.ridemartaday.com

Who: Save MARTA, a growing coalition of organizations, communities, and individuals who demand sensible funding and legislative support for MARTA.

What: In light of impending MARTA service cuts due to state level legislative action and inaction, Metro Atlantans are coming together to support the transit system by celebrating Ride MARTA Day on Friday, April 17. On Ride MARTA Day, participants will all ride MARTA at least once, per their usual commute or replacing their usual mode of transportation. Participants will ride at the time of their choosing. In other words, all you need to do is ride the bus or train on Friday, April 17.

The purpose of Ride MARTA Day is to bring all concerned Metro Atlantans into a community building activity that will boost ridership, expose new riders to useful routes, express solidarity with MARTA workers and regular commuters, and demonstrate that, as the backbone of our transportation system, MARTA must be fairly funded.

When: Friday, April 17, 2009, all day.

Where: MARTA trains and buses.

FM:Race 2009 Kits in (your chance to order)

2009 Kits are here. They're hot. If you ordered something, stop by Outback to pick up the bag with your name on it.

here is another view. We'll be out in full force at the FM:Race ride tonight, and there likely will be a big in-town ride on Saturday.

Did you miss out? Did you just shum yourself because you realized that you really should have gotten something? This is how this is going to work:

Our min kit order with ChampSys is 10 items, not including accessories. You get money to me for what you want based on the prices on this page. Once we hit 10 items, I'll post a 7 day notice that we're about to order for other people to squeeze in, and then the order goes out. If we don't get in enough $ to place an order, you can apply your $ to a 2010 kit but I get the feeling that we'll have enough to do another order. Turnaround time will be a few weeks once the order goes out.

This pattern will repeat itself until the next big kit order (2010 kits), and we make no guarantees that you ordering before then will get you something before then. Currently there is 1 item on the list for round 2. 9 to go!
