Also, my number is in my profile if you need to get in touch with me.

Bike Tour Rescheduled!

This ride, on behalf of the Atlanta Percent for Art Coalition, intends to bring more awareness of local public art to our allies, the urban cyclist. If you see the value of bike friendly and culturally vibrant public spaces, you will enjoy this ride.

Riders will meet in East Atlanta at the workshop of the SOPO Bike Collective. We will work our way west to downtown and end at Eyedrum Art + Music Gallery in the Old Fourth Ward. North and South boundaries of the route are Highland Ave. and Memorial Dr. A complete map will be made available in print and online April 6th.

The ride will last 1 1/2 hours and we will cover 10 miles with some steep hills. All riders should wear a helmet. Expect a casually paced, fun and informative ride.

Alrighty y'all, I actually have a free Thursday night so let's go for a ride!

A new twist on the Thursday night formula: First, let's do a good 8-10 miles at a nice chillaxin' pace just to enjoy the weather and take in the sights, maybe cruise up the corkscrew to get some view and some stars. (no drops, no lane splits, average 10 mph.) Then those who are interested, myself included, can crank down a few more miles at a brisker, training-oriented pace. (average 15-17 mph, if I can maintain that, no lane splits, regroups if we get separated by lights or hills.)

I can't ride on the streets yet so you should join me in my living room to ride. There is room for ~6 people on trainers probably. So far this one will be Me and X-topher, and we will start riding at 6:15pm sharp. 45 minutes on, 5 minute break, and another 45 minutes on. This should be 28-33 "miles" depending on how fast you're spinning.

So bring yer trainer over, DO NOT BE LATE, and if 6 people are signed up already, better luck next time!

Afterwards there can be tater tots.

If you are interested in catching the FM MTB Race Team in action, this may be your best chance. Ft. Yargo is a large, beautiful state park complete with a big lake. It is about a 1 hour drive from ATL in Winder (on the way to Athens). This race is the third of 8 races in the GSC series, which the FM Race team plans to race all of. It is our 6th XC race so far this year.

Spectators will enjoy several opportunities to see the racing action as well as plenty of time to enjoy the park.

If you are interested in riding in the race, check out goneriding.com to register and send me a note about carpooling.

Don't forget to wear red to show your support!

Start: 9:30 am
End: 11:00 am

This Sunday I'll be training at the track. I know it's early, but I want to be sure I can get back, take a shower, eat lunch, and have a beer in time to watch the Tour de Georgia stage. I'll be taking MARTA down there, so if anyone else is and would like to meet up, mention it in the discussion thread and we can meet up and ride together.

[edit by ck. changed name to make sense]

:::EDIT:::

After looking at the weather for tomorrow, I may not go on account of rain. I don't think there'll be enough time for the rain to dry up in the morning, plus it looks like it'll probably keep raining throughout the morning.

*UPDATE 3* Ok, Kurt says the lights work. Let's call it for 6:30 and go for a couple hours. *UPDATE 3*

*UPDATE 2* The lights haven't and won't be fixed so Brian and Pete insist that we restrict practice to daylight hours. individual warmup at 6 (or earlier if you like) and group training from 6:15 until there's not enough light to ride safely. Sorry, no loaner bikes. BYO bike. Contact me to carpool. Possible refreshments to follow. *UPDATE 2*
